Girls are seen as past it by the time they’re in their late twenties, partly because it is assumed they must want or need to go off and become mothers, partly because society still fetishises super young women as the apex of female attractiveness.

For kpop I would say this is fairly accurate as I don't know muich about western pop groups(they just end generally at a normal time and do who knows what).
