Why did Yuqi reject SM and choose Cube?

i didnt know she was scouted by SM

Its good she joined gidle, now she has more creative freedom and she can utilize her songwriting skills which would have gone waste in sm ent.

yeah but at the same time if we look at cube's management there was high risk for her to flop hard. debuting in sm (or any other big3 company) means having a stable, successful career.

Yup there was a risk but now Gidle is doing good enough so her career is safe

But being in SM means more competition to even get to debut. See so many SM rookies dropped out from SM. I think Yuqi made a right choice. Not to say she cant win over the other trainees but, being in smaller agency sometimes has its advantage

I also think it's to do with creative freedom

She turned out great with Gidle so all is good

I couldn't see her in Aespa or RV tbh

I could easily see her in either group. Plus she'd be an asset tbh. She's not a specialised skill idol, but she's a visual, an all-rounder and great at variety. She is also really smart (which helps with her Chinese variety appearances), speaks multiple languages very well and writes music on top of that, it's hard to see any group passing on her.

I think it worked out for her anyway, cause if she'd gone for SM she would have been too late for Red Velvet and would only debut now with Aespa and would be the oldest member. So it worked out well for her to debut with Idle.

1. more creative freedom

2. better contract ( paid more)

3. the history of SM with past Chinese idols scared her

4. it just didn't work out

Yuqi would have been fine anywhere but she was destined to be in gidle with Soyeon. Cub3 really hasn’t done much for their groups except give them creative control but even that is questionable given the recent new (cub3 didn’t like latata or HWAA..had to wait a year). Btob, pentagon and gidle have to make everything themselves and fight for it w/management.
