  • Marvel's WandaVision Is Having A Digital Launch Event Tomorrow

    Source: GameSpot

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to move into Phase 4, finally, as the Disney+ original series WandaVision debuts with its first two episodes on Friday, January 15. However, before the show hits the streaming service, there will be a virtual launch event featuring the cast.

The event will kick off on Marvel Entertainment's Twitter at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET. The actors featured in the announcement tweet are Paul Bettany (Vision), Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda), Teyonah Parris (Monica Rambeau), and Kathryn Hahn (Agnes).

While details about the virtual launch event are scarce, fans can most likely expect the cast talking about their experiences on the show and maybe we'll even get a new clip before the series airs.

WandaVision will be a bit of a departure from what fans of the MCU are familiar with. Aside from the fact it is the first Disney+/Marvel original series, the show will bit a bizarre. The series follows the titular characters who are stuck in a sitcom that is jumping between decades, recreating some iconic TV atmospheres, and that includes a nod to Full House--a series that starred Elizabeth Olsen's older sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley.

Early audience reactions have arrived, and they've been mainly positive. GameSpot's Chris E. Hayner tweeted, "this show's dedication to the bit of resembling shows like Bewitched, I Love Lucy, and The Brady Bunch had me staring at it dreamily."

And because this show pulls from many classic American sitcoms, you may wonder what shows the series pulled from. Director Matt Shakman mentioned I Love Lucy, My Three Sons, Bewitched, and quite a few other notable sitcoms in a recent interview.

  • Chris Evans' Captain America Poised to Return to the MCU

    Source: Deadline via CBR

Chris Evans is reportedly reprising his role as Captain America in a return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to Deadline, Evans' return as Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, would be for a future MCU project in some capacity, with a second project also a possibility. The terms of the deal are also reportedly for a co-starring or guest appearance similar to Robert Downey Jr. in Captain America: Civil War and Spider-Man: Homecoming, and not a fourth installment in the Captain America film franchise.

There were rumors in February 2019 that Marvel offered Evans that chance to work behind the camera on a potential MCU project. This allegedly would be for Evans to direct a few episodes of the various limited series that Marvel is bringing to the Disney+ streaming service.

Chris Evans famously passed the Captain America shield to Sam Wilson (Falcon) in the ending moments of Avengers: Endgame. Steve Rogers returned from placing the Infinity Stones back to their proper places in the past as an old man, thus retiring from being a superhero. This set up the events of Disney+'s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, with the titular heroes coming to grips with Cap's legacy.

  • Ethan Hawke to Play Villain Opposite Oscar Isaac in Marvel's 'Moon Knight'

    Source: Hollywood Reporter

Isaac is toplining the show, featuring one of Marvel’s cult characters, that is aiming for a March production start in Budapest.

Ethan Hawke has made his Marvel.

Making his comic book adaptation and superhero debut, Hawke has closed a deal to join Oscar Isaac in Moon Knight, Marvel Studios’ series for Disney+, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.

Hawke will play the series’ lead villain.

Isaac is toplining the show, which is aiming for a March production start in Budapest.

May Calamawy, who is perhaps best known for her work in Hulu's Ramy, is already on the roll call.

Moon Knight has had several incarnations over the decades since his debut in 1975, from being an ex-Marine turned mercenary with multiple alter egos to being a conduit for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu, to, most recently, a dapper consultant. In the modern comics era, one them of the story has been the character's struggle with multiple personality disorder.

It is unclear who Hawke would play, but Moon Knight's archnemesis is a villain named Bushman, a fellow mercenary who turned on the hero when Egyptian gold came into the picture.

Mohamed Diab, the Egyptian helmer behind Middle Eastern drama Clash, and Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, the indie filmmaking team behind sci-fi horror movies The Endless and Synchronic, are directing the show.

Hawke’s career began in the mid-1980s with teen sci-fi movie Explorers, but in the 35-plus years since, he has avoided the comic book movie genre. He has, however, starred in genre works, helping launch hit horror franchises Sinister and The Purge.

His wide-ranging work has seen him twice nominated for an acting Oscar (2002’s Training Day and 2015’s Boyhood) and twice for writing (2005’s Before Sunrise and 2014’s Before Midnight).

He recently wrapped The Northman, a Viking revenge saga from Robert Eggers that stars Anya Taylor-Joy, and is coming off of strong notices for The Good Lord Bird, a historical drama he created and starred in.

  • Daredevil’s Charlie Cox Reportedly Seen on Set of Spider-Man 3!

    Source: Coming Soon

After word excitingly first broke last month that Netflix Daredevil star Charlie Cox has reportedly signed on to reprise the role for the untitled third Tom Holland-fronted Spider-Man film, ComicBook.com has now brought word that the 38-year-old British actor has been spotted on set!

Cox’s casting came on the heels of the rumors brewing that both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield were in the works to come back to the world of webslinging, with the former still being in talks, as well as Kirsten Dunst’s Mary-Jane Watson, Jamie Foxx’s Electro and Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus from both franchises and the latest news comes in the wake of Marvel head Kevin Feige addressing that all Marvel characters from the world of Netflix are now in play to make their way to the big screen.

While the villains have both been confirmed for the film, reports are still back-and-forth as to whether any of the former Spider-Men are confirmed and chances are no confirmation will be given by Marvel Studios until closer to the close of production on the project.

Cox’s Daredevil was the first Marvel Cinematic Universe series on Netflix and helped pave the way for spin-offs Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and The Punisher, the first three of which eventually culminated in the crossover limited series The Defenders. The series received rave reviews from critics and audiences alike across its three-season run and fans were initially disappointed when the streaming platform cancelled the series, but both Netflix and Marvel Studios promised the character would be seen in future MCU projects and Cox has continually expressed a sadness in the cancellation and a desire to reprise the role. All of the Netflix series had loose ties to the cinematic MCU, so his appearance in the film wouldn’t take much explanation.

Tom Holland will return for the untitled third Spider-Man film as the titular wall-crawler alongside Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, going up against Jamie Foxx’s Electro. Given the ending of Far From Home, however, any number of his rogues’ gallery are also likely eager for a fight. The third installment to the MCU’s Spider-Man films will also feature the return of Zendaya (Euphoria, Dune) as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned.

While most of the original series cast are set to return for the threequel, Foxx’s casting further blurs the lines across Sony’s three web-slinging franchises, with the previous installment bringing back J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson from Sam Raimi’s trilogy and the studio’s Sony Universe of Marvel Characters led by Venom expected to crossover into the Marvel Cinematic Universe series soon.

Originally scheduled for a July 16, 2021 release, the untitled Spider-Man 3 was first pushed back to November 5 and will now bow on December 17, 2021.

  • It's been two days so it's safe I guess to eschew the spoiler tag.

Yeah, that's one of the prevailing theories. Next week's episode would be crazy as we still don't know if Even Peters is playing the same Quicksilver from Fox or is this a new Pietro all together as Darcy mentioned him being recasted or as some is theorizing, Mephisto in disguise.

  • so what do y'all think about wandavision?

The first two - three were a bit slow on the reveal and the short run time of each episodes didn't help either. However, things turned up to eleven in the last two and I can't complain. I like that there's always something memorably weird, almost Twilight Zone-like happening on almost all the episodes - the dinner scene from the first, the Dottie and the beekeeper scenes from the second, most of the last third of the third episode, the dead Vision from the fourth, and the office scene from last week.

I think Marvel is still reserving a few swerves before the end of this season. I don't think everything is as clear-cut as some of the theories circulating right now. It would be interesting to see the impact of this show on the greater MCU.

Billy and Tommy shows up here while Kate shows up in Hawkeye. Eli Bradley is supposed to have a part in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. I guess they are slowly building up the Young Avengers roster which is understandable since all the older Avengers actors and actresses wouldn't be able to play their parts indefinitely. Just Marvel/Disney planning for the future.

  • Gina Carano Fired From The Mandalorian After ‘Abhorrent’ Social Media Posts

    Source: Vulture

The Mandalorian actress and MMA fighter Gina Carano has been fired from LucasFilm after “abhorrent and unacceptable” posts of hers went viral on social media. “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future,” said a spokesperson for LucasFilm in a statement obtained by io9. “Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.” Earlier this week, the hashtag #FireGinaCarano trended on Twitter after the actress posted and then deleted an anti-Semitic story on her personal Instagram. The posts were captured by fans and shared widely on social media, causing an uproar

  • so what do y'all think about wandavision?

Ugh I’m so in love with this show.

hate that it only has a couple more episodes to go, but already excited for The Falcon and Winter Solider!

  • Rumor has it Eli Bradley/Patriot will be in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and with Kate Bishiop showing up on Hawkeye, MCU is slowly building up the Young Avengers roster. It's likely Kamala Khan will be part of that team as well.

I guess it's inevitable since we can't have the older Marvel casts play their role indefinitely - age will eventually catch up to them and with MCU's years-spanning phases, it's just them planning things for the future.

  • Marvel reportedly bringing Big Hero 6 to the MCU

    Source: Stuffs

In Marvel comics Big Hero 6 is an ensemble team comprising of bots and superheros. Back in 2014, Disney released an animated film of it. They changed a lot of things from the source material. Following the animated film, they produced a 2D animated sequel series titled Big Hero 6: The Series. The series will end later this year. But they already have a Disney+ spinoff planned for next year titled Baymax.

Now according to new rumors a live-action adaptation of the team is coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This rumour is coming from Derek Cornell over at TheDisInsider.

Back in 2015 in Avengers: Age of Ultron, the name Tadashi Hamada’s was seen briefly when Tony Stark went through new AIs to replace JARVIS. Tadashi Hamada is the elder brother of Hiro Hamada, the protagonist of 2014 Big Hero 6 movie and also the leader of the team.

There are also rumors that they could potentially show up in any future MCU series or movie, such as Secret Invasion, or maybe in Doctor Strange 2.

At the moment, we don't know anything about the project. We are also uncertain if they would introduce the comic version of the team or if they will go with Disney’s versions. We are also not sure if it would be a movie or a Disney+ show. it looks like there are big plans for Hiro and Baymax moving forward.
