I don't think the two collaborations can be compared cause one is only limited to a country while another was a global project.

Also afaik, the BP collab is just blackpink themed merch with starbucks? Not like a limited edition drink or something lol. So again the two are very different collaborations.

The merch is so cute tho, I love the hanbok teddy bear keychains and the pink tumbler.

Well teenagers do love Starbucks a lot lol :-D . I used to camp there with my friends to do projects back when the pandemic wasn't a thing. But we never bought much cause it's really expensive compared to say.... Domino's or McD. Plus like I said, if it's just a merch collaboration it's still not comparable. So who knows?

I doubt it. McDonald’s is huge and accessible to all ages. Starbucks won’t have as large age range of a consumer base

Also fun fact, bts had a collab with Starbucks korea last year with merch and drink and food

IF they have a global collaboration, it still won't be comparable. I'm basing this off of their current project which is blackpink themed merch. Now if you are saying a collaboration as in an exclusive drink or something then be a bit more specific please :-D

Anyway op like what people said Macdonald is way more pocket friendly than Starbucks so I would say no as well but it would still be mildly successful because I notice there are quite alot of people that collect Starbucks tumbler and their vacuum flask, my wife is one of them I have to admit those merch looks really pretty as well lol I am glad they aren't avaliable in Singapore.

I am unsure if it would be bigger, but it would have more quality and store participation. McD's has the broadest demographic of the two including families. Starbucks has way more brand prestige; people will put their own drinks in Starbucks disposable cups or reusable tumblers just because it's Starbucks.

In terms of differentiation, it would be "on brand" for Blackpink to do something with Starbucks. Special edition Starbucks tumblers have sold out pretty fast before. I could only imagine what a special edition Blackpink tumbler would do. They could also play some of their slower songs in the stores as well.

Is Starbucks as global as McDonald's? I actually want to know.
