What I would like to see is more variety of music/dancing. In KPOP your dancing is limited to Jazz/Hip-hop. In Japanese you have literally everything. You have heavy metal female groups like Lovebites or rock like Band-Maid(shameless plug). You have modern dancing type groups like Sakurazaka46. Fusion rock with Wagakki Band, and of course WTF type of groups like Ladybaby.

Unfortunately your a few years too late as they haven't been doing that for a while now. Maybe if Korea decided to do Retro Japanese?

Yes, many of those are J-Rock bands.
But there are some soloists considered J-pop that also have a rocky sound, especially the ones that do anisongs. It may not be metal, but it's alternative rock. Like LiSA, Aimer, Eir Aoi, Sayuri. One of the biggest songs of 2020, Homura, by LiSA, is a rock ballad. Even the best seller of 2020, Kenshin Yonezu, does some rock here and there. One of the singles of Stray Sheep, Lemon, is an indie-rock song.

That‘s true though. I wouldn’t call Kenshin Yonezu J-pop though.
