do you get scared by watching horror movies?

Nope. I'm a non-believer, so this type of supernatural/scary movie doesn't really give me any goosebumps.

Not at all. I think because I played horror games as kid like resident evil and silent hill (yeah my parents would buy me even the goriest looking games without realising what it was lol) being an active participant in a horror environment meant my actions had consequences like death/game over so i was fully immersed.

Films meanwhile I simply watch them with no stakes, I have nothing to fear because I have nothing to lose or gain. Plus often the characters make stupid decisions and the monsters aren't really that scary or grotesque.

I got scared watching Truth or Dare, (and some PLL ep ) that just says how easy is to scare me.

I still watch some of them from time to time because they are entertaining

the horror movie genre really doesn't draw me in

the last one i watched i didn't understood was a horror movie until after i watched it and it literally scarred me, because of it its been about 4 months since i've stopped eating most meats ( it was a cannibal horror movie) because of it and all dairy pretty much. it was deeply horrifying and the next day i could barely ea ....even if the events aren't real or wouldn't happen to me it doesnt mean the emotions aren't real and that somewhere in the world that is happening.

so i don't wanna get anywhere near any kind of horror movie scary or not. Especially i need to avoid anything with gore. Watching humans suffer is deeply disturbing to me.

Same. I like horror aesthetics, but I hate watching horror movies because they don't scare me.

I just end up paying attention to how contrived and predictable it is because the storyline revolves around creating as many scary moments as possible. It's always people constantly making terrible decisions and I find that more annoying than anything else. Horror tv series are even worse, because they just draw out the stupidity even longer.

Shows like Handmaid's Tale actually scare the shit out of me though, because it's something that could actually happen and has happened (in a loosely similar way) in other countries throughout history.
