Why are studio albums more common with boy groups than girl groups?

I think it has to do with royalties and sales.
BG’s in general have higher album sales and these days a lot of BG’s work on their own music, so less royalties to pay for producers and Songwriters and because of the prices for just one album they can allow themself more fillers.
With GG’s they want the hit Songs, so digital sales as they don’t sell nearly as good physically as BG’s. They often don’t write their own music so a lot of producers and Songwriters have to get paid. Digital sales are also cheaper. So I think that’s why GG’s release mini’s more often then full albums compared to BG’s .
It’s just a guess.

Companies tend to give more creative freedom to boygroups because of that they often write or produce more music. Companies also seem to invest more time and resources in teaching male idols without backgrounds in writing and producing to produce and write music. Girl groups on the other hand often times have to relie on the company for song writers and producers, that costs the companies more money and time hence why albums by girl groups are often mini albums.
