It's funny because I often heard 4th gen groups like Everglow and such didn't click so much with the Korean audience because they tried too hard to cater to the international audience with their music direction, which Koreans were not so fond of. Yet aespa scores a hit with a song that is straight up Western pop. It's kinda puzzling.

Um definitely not, the 3 in 1 thing was extremely risky if they wanted western popularity lol. It was a thing with 2nd gen music which is why resonated well with koreans.
