Sleep Paralysis

Sorry to hear that. It sucks.
I’ve experienced those many times too but thank goodness when I was younger. Now it’s quite rare.
During those episodes, I slept with one leg on a low chair because I felt that if I can get that leg to move a bit and fall off the chair, it will jar me awake. Or sometimes I have to sleep in a sitting position. It was bad.
Anyway Jinaland, hope it will pass soon.

i have it too, started like last year, every now and then, esp often when im stressed or don't have enough sleep(usually during exams)
i get it, its really scary even though it happens often, i have seen a sleep specalist for it but it didn't really help unfortunately:(
when i pull myself out if it, im usually shivering for some reason and i tell myself its all a bad dream and everything is ok, then goes back to sleep
it really helps to have a regular sleeping schedule though, like during school holidays i don't get it at all bc i wake up at 12 and sleep at like 2am everyday and ofc during holidays, there's no stress at all.
let's hope that it will happen less and we can have restful nights:)

I had that one time when my cat was being annoying and wouldn't settle. I think it stopped me fully being asleep too. I suddenly went rigid and couldn't move, I couldn't even make a sound to call anyone. But when I hear about what other people go through I guess I got off lightly.
I read somewhere that taking magnesium supplements before bed helps, it helps to relax the muscles.

I've had those, and it's horrible. Some say it's more likely to happen if you sleep on your back, but I've had it several times and I always sleep on my stomach (it feels like I'm being pushed against the wall/bed. It's so scary).
It's mainly stress induced. I hope you don't get to experience it again.

nevermindmejin jinaland @Sweet-Spice butterbutterfly CherrySoda @yougottadreamman caratnotcarrot i'm sorry you went through that, i hope it got better for you guys
i had sleep paralysis when i was younger it's exactly as people describe when you're sort of awake but can't move or scream
but recently it's a bit different for me idk if it's still sleep paralysis
basically i wake up, get off bed, try to switch on the lights...but then i suddenly find myself back to my initial position in the bed as if i never did those things, i try again to get off bed, switch on the lights, but then get back to my original position, i try again and once more i get back to my initial position, it's like a loop that lasts for 4 or 5 times until i actually wake up -
Sleep paralysis is horrifying.
