Hybe groups’ song quality has dropped a lot, and I genuinely don’t get why.

  • From the production quality to the excessive use of autotune, there’s a clear lack of creativity. Not to mention the concepts they use for some of their boy groups recycled from things we’ve already seen from Bts. That’s my biggest problem with Hybe, they love repeating the same formula instead of being innovative. Does it work? Obviously, yes. But for how long is the real question. And it's boring too.

Lsf is the biggest mystery to me. They went from Antifragile, Blue Flame, Impurities, Perfect Night, and all 10/10 bsides to… whatever they’re putting out now. The drop is really noticeable. Illit released the best song among Hybe groups in 2025 by far, but the bar is hell.

Hybe is way too big and way too rich to be stuck in this kind of creative slump.

  • Please don't get me started on the Micheal Jackson obsession. They keep trying to pay homages to him every time they want to appeal to the west.

And the vocal processing *is* weird. Like sometimes I cannot tell which member is singing even if they have very distinctive voices.

  • They've been using horrible, tasteless autotune since before they existed as HYBE tbf.

If anything has changed, it is that the suits are in charge and making decisions based on market research rather than having a vision-forward direction. And it's working!

I think it works because they rely on very aggressive, in your face marketing, especially on Tiktok, and basically force virality. On top of that, Armys are still huge and often end up token-stanning their other groups. But as Hybe debut more and more groups, this strategy won’t be as effective, since they can’t give the same “special treatment” to everyone. Inevitably, some groups will end up as the stepchildren. Sales-wise, it’s already affecting their girl groups, and it will be interesting to see the dynamics of their boy groups after Bts return and now Cortis rises to the top of the company’s stan list.

  • My issue as someone with two ults from there (I'm fcked 😭) is the song length and therefore disappearance of bridge.

The trend chase isn't that much of an issue to me if it's done well, they're not the only one doing that, just the most obvious. And if we're talking about lsf, their brand links to fashion at least from debut on so the trend chasing is kinda on point to me?

For the autotune i'll say it depends on the type of song, i hate it more when it's used on stripped down songs or vocals heavy song. But I agree it's a part of the production i don't like. That and Bighit producers (watching you pdogg and slow rabbit) obsession with high af choruses that still has high intensity choreo all that without seeming to properly train their idols to have healthy techniques

Lol thid turned into a little rant.

I've still enjoyed most of my faves release but it is frustrating.

  • I'm not obsessed with song quality as much as the lot of y'all are. If the music is good, then it's good.

And my faves from HYBE (LSF and SVT) have released good music this year and that's all I care about. Yeah, autotune's a bitch but most of yall can't even recognize the use of autotune unless its in-your-face, CORTIS style. I'd bet 1000 akorns that y'alls fav songs have just as much autotune as the average hybe song.

The only other glaring issue is, like someone already mentioned, song length and the lack of a bridge.

  • Yes, how could I forget the unnecessary high notes? They sadly ruined Jin’s and especially Jimin’s voices for me to the point that I can’t stand them in Bts songs anymore not even their solo songs. Luckily, I don’t think it has affected the other Hybe idols to that extent yet but in the long run? I’m not sure.

And I agree about the trend part, because Lsfm has been doing exactly that since debut. I enjoy the variety in their sound, but the quality obviously dropped after Perfect Night

Well, I think it’s obvious. I’m talking about the drop in quality because I don’t think the songs they release recently are good. What’s the point of people talking about all this if they actually enjoy the songs?

    Idk, its your thread?

To me, there's no quality drop because I don't look for quality in title tracks. I would've believed you about LSF maybe in 2025 but Ash exists so yeah, I disagree with you in part.

  • I don't like their concepts and music. I find their influences themselves to be very boring. There was a time when they WERE good (BTS ~2015) but at some point they started leaning into trying to make only music that sells instead of good music. Also they somehow think that the blandest pop music from 2010s is somehow still in vogue. It's very odd to me. Take a look at Katseye's Gabriella. Is it not a Rita Ora reject? When was the last time Rita Ora was relevant? Now ofcourse people can like Rita Ora but I think most people would agree with me that it's not a sound that is making much of charting impact too. For a company that is so chart obsessed they sure are not smart about it.

Also my theory on the autotune is that they try to hide the Korean accent.
