Cortis might be the modern-day BIGBANG for me

  • I know their styles are completely different, but it's in the way they perform with live vocals, have incredible energy onstage, and emphasize their music-making abilities. They know how to effectively use ad libs during a live performance.

    This was insane.

  • So, you read my comment where I said: "I might check them out later." and you turned on the promoter mode already. 😂

BTW, I don't mind "different", that's exactly what I want in this boring age of Kpop.

The intro was dope, but I was expecting him doing more with the instruments behind him. The music (GO) isn't my type tho, but they're good on stage.

The 2nd song is more of my type, but feels a bit all over the place. The riffs carrying the whole song tbh.

I can't really judge their vocals or the rap based on this. Neither of these songs are vocal heavy or have much rap parts.

  • They definitely have the potential to be the next big thing. Beyond streaming numbers, chart performance, and social media metrics, what’s most impressive is how quickly they’ve managed to carve out their own identity. In just a few short months, they’ve built an image as artists, not just idols https://omegle.onl/ .

  • I hate Fashion with a passion. Try saying that 10 times.

I think it was really cool to sync the lightsticks to match the music visualizer as Martin made the beat.

  • Cortis gives me a very “team as a whole” vibe. I don’t really feel their individual charm or distinct colors in their performances. With Bigbang, on the other hand, even when they’re doing a full choreography, each member still stands out in their own way. Of course, that’s just my personal take.

As for the music, I can’t say much since I only know two of Cortis’ songs, but Bigbang is a group that can pull off completely different tracks like Lies and Fantastic Baby. Their discography and versatility are insane. I honestly don’t see Cortis reaching that level in the future in terms of versatility. Go and Fashion didn’t feel nearly enough for me to say they’re similar to Bigbang.

Yeah, you’re right. Even though they can put on an electrifying performance as a rookie group, the members don’t have individual charm the way BIGBANG members do. With Cortis, I can’t differentiate between the members’ parts just yet. They don’t provide enough contrast.

Unfortunately, I missed the stream for day 2, so I rushed through the performances this time and spoke on a whim.

Honestly, your initial impression is actually really insightful, as it highlights how BigBang embodies creativity and stands out through its innovations.

  • Yeah I’ve been really digging Cortis since their debut. They are the only boy group I listen to. As I love Lil Uzi, Carti, ASAP Rocky, Travis Scott - its my sort of music. I much prefer their performance style to a typical boy group too. The loose choreo in favour of just vibing.

The fashion stage was so sick. Probably the best stage at MAMA this year.

I think it’s finally a boy group that can appeal to male fans again, after 2 whole gens of them just focusing on female fans.
