This is my short review of the song.
Is this one song or two? It's easy to see why we miss Rami!
I'll give props to YG for trying out different genres, the rock kinda suits BABYMONSTER, but PSYCHO is all over the place.
The 1st Verse was irritating as hell, the Pre-Chorus is pretty good, but the Chorus and Post-Chorus was irritating again!
The 2nd Verse with the rap is basically just the usual boring YG rap, and it's sad, because Asa (and Ruka) are really talented, but they ALWAYS have to do the same fast-paced "Brr, brr, bada bumm" nonsense rap lyrics. Like, you don't always have to talk fast to make a rap part interesting!
The Bridge was amazing, and this is the part where the song actually starts becoming good.
Sadly, this is bang average, and only the girls made it bearable.
I can tell which part would be given to Rami, because the song really misses her flare.
How this could've been better? Remove the entire first minute, and add a slower, dark vocal part with slower riffs that builds up a better Chorus, like a Dreamcatcher song basically. Then, keep the Pre-Chorus and the Bridge, add a slower, darker tone rap part with actual lyrics that means something, and just keep the 2nd half of the song after the Bridge part and it's a 10/10.
Another example of why you don't need 8 writers and producers for one song.
Imagine if YG hire the Dreamcatcher producers and give songs like these to Babymon. I'd die happy, honestly.
