It already reached 13M views since the reveal!

  • doesn't feel like she was on beat for the whole first part

Yeah she’s chasing the beat and her pronunciation is awful considering her nationality. They kinda set her up by releasing that cover. Should have posted a singing or dancing cover!

  • She/group hasn’t debut yet So not a fair judge imo! I see a lot of things about her on twitter so people are talking about her I suppose :?: apparently she’s half Latin half Korean so the first Latin American idol from YG I believe :huuh:

it's more in the sense that i felt like even member like Ahyeon, Chiquita, rosé etc... got much more buzz around them when they were introduce than i feel this girl is receiving

  • Why is there a stigma against ads? It just seems standard, good idea to advertise your groups?

Probably, because stans use it as the biggest achievement on the planet.

I don't care about ads, companies should be promoting their artists, but when most of the views comes from ads and their fans acting superior, it makes me feel no one should do this.

YG's main channel has more than 8M subs, even Billboard Korea said, this new group is the "Next Monster Rookie after Blackpink"

Now, imagine the uproar from Babymon fans. 😂 This is pure disrespect, honestly, and I get why BM fans are angry. This is why I didn't like what YG is doing. They're already proved my point about debuting another girl group this soon.

    pasted-from-clipboard.png

  • To me, BM and Treasure are just female and male equivalents of iKon, but with more hype and managed better. I think YG missed a trick by not better promoting Winner.

  • I genuinely believe it’s because of her age! People aren’t in a rush to stan 2010 babies and younger :!:

I don't think it's her age bc from what I see YGE SEA fans don't really care about ages. Chiquita was 13 and Asa was 16 when their videos were introduced and they are two of the popular ones in their group. Evelli is 15.

I feel like it's the song choice, this try-hard rapping doesn't suit her and maybe people are getting tired of the whole rapping shtick? Also maybe cuz people think it's too soon for the company to debut a new girl group.

THIS! I've seen so many new Kpop stans saying, they're fed up with Idol "rappers", because it's boring, and to be fair, in most cases it's true. Agencies should stop forcing the rap position in every group, especially when they're obviously not good enough.

With YG it's different, because that's their image, but most of their "rappers" didn't write a single line, only doing the same swag, and that's also boring for many people. The song don't suit her at all, that's for sure.

  • YG have always been using ads. I remember blinks got angry at Dahyun for skipping a blackpink ad ^^

  • Yeah, it's such a weird criticism. In an environment where fans mass stream, stream farm, buy 5 albums, etc, companies advertising is seen as not legit is so weird :S

  • Yge using ads now when others companies are buying Spotify streams... Damn, they are late.

And YGE image is almost over in SK and ww bc of BS so you won't see debut hype like before anytime soon from any of their new groups, it's ok to start to think a little instead of trying to shade a group whose debut we have no idea when it'll be neither its members.

That's the least bad thing they did. I remember when they "hacked" MMM's channel, back in the day it was enabled, so you can translate titles and subs as well, and blonks use it as to send death treats and other nice things.

Honestly, I loved that feature, because with lazy ass companies like RBW who never did ENG SUBS, at least there was an option for fans to do it, but it was a free pass for toxic people.

YG buying Spotify streams too. Everyone does it, that's the Playlisting that most people love to refer to.

Nugus have like 1M and big groups like ILLIT, Aespa etc have more than 70 or even 100M playlisting. It's not different from YT ads, but it's only good for BIG4 groups too. Spotify playlisting could be better in a long-term, unless Spoti removes the playlists, it's basically an ad forever.

Playlist is a thing, now that thing where you play 1 song and the other is x song then 1 song again then x song again like... Shameless, but anyways, my point is how people are "expecting" YGE rookie groups to be famous like their seniors when a whole BS happened and YGE suffered a huge impact and it's felt in their newer groups.

They don't need automatically success like BP, 2ne1, winner etc. as long as they are talented and have good music it's ok.

  • Less hype after Babymonster. They're doing fine but they're not leading the pack. BP was a much bigger group and the follow up was extremely anticipated.

We can go on for days about the horrible things blinks have done

I just thought this one was crazy because nobody likes watching ads. To attack somebody like Dahyun over skipping an ad is insane. It does show how YG uses ads and I don't see anything wrong with that because they're promoting their group. I just think fans have to realize a big 4 company is going to pay for ads and playlisting and that's one of the major advantages they have over smaller groups.

This picture alone says everything. If this ain't disrespectful as hell, I don't know what is.

To be fair, most Kpop stans can be toxic about the most ridiculous things. It's not just blinks. ONCE, ARMY etc aren't any better. Especially these days. Sometimes I feel new Kpop stans way worse than 3rd gen fans, or I'm just got used to toxic stans from older gens.😂

Exactly. BIG4 agencies investing in Streaming Ads, meanwhile RBW making their own NSWF app to use their Idols AI face for "Spicy" chat!

Imagine how much money they spent on this app, and they could've used it for actually promoting these groups.

yes they use ads but as I've demonstrated several times on this forum, YG groups still get massive views without Ads so I do wonder why YG invests so heavily in them. I guess the exposure is good no matter what.

They probably are using ads on this, I think they did on BMs pre-debut content too.

Are you replying to me? I just asked a gen question and who is shading a group?

Babymonster debut was pretty hype tho at first until they announced Ahyeon being on hiatus.

Thanks for answering the question! I think you're the first one to actually answer the question. Some (me included) went off topic lol.

Oh please, Babymonster got bad playlisting numbers. Even though every comeback they get consistently high streams, they always get the least playlist reach contrary to other girlgroups. I’m tired of posting the receipts.

They are always late, I remember when it was JYP and SM are the one who heavily used ads for Itzy and Aespa, while Treasure got 0.

They just started doing ads for Treasure when BM debuted.

For Spotify… I don’t just get it why BM is always added late in some K-pop playlists.

BM seems to have great engagement online and Tru-Multistan mentioned they still get a lot views without ads. YGE should invest in playlisting instead of YT ads for BM.

    That’s what I think too.

Are they doing the same for MEOVV or it's just for IZNA? If it's just for IZNA might be WakeOne's doing.

Yeah, every 5th gen group do ads now. It’s really hard to tell the ads ratio for MEOVV though because the likes are hidden.

Are you sure about that? Sure, it's not as high as Aespa, ILLIT Le Sserafim, but still, I'd love if my faves would get HALF of this treatment from their comany!
