I'm not the kind of person who believes in cancel culture, but I also don't assume that idols are angels. Only Karina really knows what this post meant, whether it was just a random photo, no meaning behind or a veiled political statement... who knows? Only time will tell... neither do I care...Turns out a lot of people in this industry who I thought were decent people, well, were not that decent, so I'm not going to go out of my way to accuse or defend her.

Nah that's just korean Instagram culture. Anytime very popular idols wear things in Korea people flock to buy them, when I was in Seoul last week I was at my old study cafe and it was unusually packed, owner said some actor posted a story about it. Karina is not more famous or a bigger sell then Dua Lipa.
Anyway I disagree OP, I don't how many times its got to be explained. That Dua Lipa posts proves literally nothing.

There's no mental gymnastics happening on this side mate. It's called considering all the information, including her past demonstrated behaviour. Things she's actually seen to be doing.
Making a wild assumption based off a tiny portion of all that data is the real mental gymnastics.
As for why we are sticking up for her? Because the amount of vitriol she's getting is far beyond what's deserved.

I'm all for sticking up for our faves when hate is unnecessary but you can't sit here and tell me that if Karina was switched with any other 4th gen gg member that isn't part of AESPA that MYs would not be dragging them to hell and back screaming to hold that idol accountable.

Even if we assume Mys wouldn’t drag other idols if it happened to other idols, after this situation they will 100% do that. Cuz most of the fandoms are doing out of spite and hate not because they are truly left wing people, or know a thing about Korean politics or so.

Don't get me wrong, there's a heap of toxic Mys on twit who need to focus inwards instead. But let's not pretend that that kind of toxicity doesn't exist in all fandoms in varying degrees or that it's all just ultimately tit for tat or people biting at set up posts.
Regardless, the punishment should match the crime, so all I can say is that she's been dragged enough, and I hope that no other idol gets this kind of assumption and treatment.

cuz i heard about the controversy through AKP and they kept saying that the red + 2 + rose was a really bad coincidence cuz they were all linked to the People power party
and i thought well she really messed up even if it's a coincidence
and i actually thought the rose was the true logo of the PPP
until i went to twitter 2 days after and see how many koreans were talking about international fans spreading BS
the rose have nothing to do with the PPP it's actually just the "symbol" of this election cuz it's the first time (apart from 2017) that koreans are holding an election during the rose season that's why it's call the rose election but the rose have no link to any political party in korea
actually the rose is the logo of the labor party in korea
we often criticize twitter for spreading BS but sometimes Twitter is a much more reliable source of information than AKP

she could be a conservative if she wants to in terms of values or religious beliefs specifically, doesn't mean she supports the ppp. specially after the martial law scandal! most sane person wouldn't, conservative or not.
and her wearing a red jacket isn't the proof you think it is. yes there was also a rose (which can represent the elections) but she also had blue items in her batch of photos on that post so...

well honestly the only person in all these names who had any link to MAGA was that Katseye girl's family so... linking karina to that was ridiculous and just some smear compaing crap some jealous people pushed on karina to get her and her group cancelled or to stain her image because they feel threatened by aespa's success. EWW.
