Do AKP Tokkis agree with this take from K-Pop Reddit regarding NewJeans?

"An OT5 tokki feels the NewJeans members treat their fans like NPCs, saying their 1000th day messages feel hollow after they chose loyalty to Min Heejin over the group's identity and fan connection.

The biggest reason I lost all attachment was stuff like this

They just say "thank you" with words but everyone knows they treat us like NPC who are always just there.

If you threw away your fans and the whole precious group IP (NewJeans) just to chase after [Min Heejin], and went down a thorny path you didn't even have to take, then shouldn't you at least feel a little guilt or remorse toward the bugs crawling after you on that path?

Being a fan of an idol.. what is it, really? It's just a hobby. People are just here to de-stress from daily life, looking at cute kids and listening to good music. Who the hell wants to see a revolution or some crap while stanning? Life's already annoying enough.

But they act like everything they do is automatically worthy of support and praise, like it's a given. That's what really makes me lose all affection."

  • I think there are plenty of fans who feel their decision was ill thought out. It is what it is.

I donโ€™t know if they far too loyal to MHJ or it was their immaturity that made them choose to die on this hill of fighting a huge ass conglomerate and hope to win but what I see in retrospect is that it was a terrible idea and they should have thought everything through much better.

They did not have a great team/friends/family guiding them imo and thatโ€™s been very obvious.

  • But serious answer now.

I pity the girls bc Hybe was already preparing to dungeon them so I understand their fear and despair in staying at Hybe. They were literally at the top with an amazing team, creative wise and even feeling wise, Ador was truly splendid in their job with the girls so I understand their decisions. But seeing it now I think they should've waited a little more and collect more proofs of hybe evil plan and yeah, even go through some forced hiatus, but that would've helped their case way more... In the end it's almost impossible to win against a huge company, but I still hope everything works out for them, they were amazing to kpop and I loved keeping up with their music, artistic and aesthetic side!

  • Can't really agree or disagree since I don't stan the group. But I've never got the vibe that the members just have some expectation that fans will follow them and I've never heard that they treat fans like NPCs.

The other bit I can understand though, if they were the only group I stanned I probably would have moved on by now lol, k-pop is a hobby and should be something fun, not just drama and court cases.

  • No, I donโ€™t agree.

Firstly the girls do show regret and remorse, you can see it in Hanniโ€™s words in the BBC interview. Hindsight is 20-20 and they might have chosen a different path if they knew this is how it would pan out.

But, I am proud of them fighting for what they believe in. And even if they fight and lose (I.e return to ADOR/Hybe) I wonโ€™t think any less of them.

Yeah it's pretty sad because like you said i understand their reactions because of the heat of the moment and everything that was happening around them but i feel it's so hard for them to win the case because for starters they are already dealing with one of the biggest companies in korea so that's already difficult but then you add the fact that between MHJ leaving the CEO position and they refusing to work with new ADOR and the time gap is so small that it's difficult for any proof of mistreatment to be collected

By now everybody knows how mid law is in sk regarding idols mistreatment so while TO ME their concerns were valid enough to break off their contract, obviously it wouldn't be the same to the CEOs of the industry. They don't see idols as humans neither they'll choose idols side when the opponent is literally Hybe. It is a difficult battle, but if they had put through the forced hiatus maybe their chances could've been higher.

  • that doesnt sound like a tokkie at all, just a hybe stan larping as one

is the same sentiment hybe stans say all the time, and its not random that the post showed up in a hybe stan NJDrama subreddit lol

  • Well your first mistake is using kpop reddit and second is asking what they think of NJZ.

So thought I'd look on reddit anyway see what is the deal and well you can judge yourself. Look you can be a fan and be turned off by this whole thing. I disagree but you do you. However this poster (the post your sharing not you) is no fan just a troll who hangs out in NJZ snarks subreddits. You can see here.

  • They were led astray by a narcisstic sociopath who seems to have zero remorse over anyone except herself.

I still will never understand why she destroyed New Jeans while they were literally ON TOP OF THE WORLD. From 2022-2023, New Jeans had conquered Global Kpop with their combined domestic and international accomplishments, they were literally on their way to toppling Blackpink.

Why wasnt that enough for her? Why werent her supposed "children" being on top of the world earning fame, prestige, money, enough for her? Why was she secretly having meetings with random outside investors? What was she hiding on her company laptop which she refused to give back to Hybe? To me, she didnt care about the kids. Nope. She only cared that SHE didnt get ALL the credit, she only cared that SHE didnt get all the money. It was all about her her her. She wanted ALL the credit, ALL the fame, ALL the money.

Like imagine if i was in her place. Imagine if i truly thought of NJ like my own daughters the way she CLAIMED to feel and i had helped bring them to the pinnacle of Kpop. Now why on God's green earth would i do anything to jeopardize that? Seriously. Like even if some randos in Hybe were pissed off or jealous of me, why the fuck would i let that jeopardize and ruin everything i had built for the girls who i claim to be like daughters to me? Is there anything you wouldnt do for your loved ones?

I just want to know do really all bunnies agreed and thinks that MHJ is really sincere on the girls?

This is regardless if that BSH has now facing those charges.I believe no Corporation is clean or a saint. But still doesn't change my views on MHJ.

In the end, does it really matter?

The girls and their families feel a certain way. That's their lived experience and I'm not going to invalidate that.

From their perspective, MHJ treated them right and that's all that matters to them. And a lot of bunnies just want the girls to work with whoever they want/like.
