I don’t like how ultra-femininity is being demonized!

  • What I realized when the whole "I'm not like other girls" thing was hot was that a lot of those girls went that route because, they had a "pick me" mindset. To tell the boys that they are cool, and not boring like other girls. It started after the movie mean girls became famous.

I was even ashamed of my feminine traits at a point. Media is toxic as hell, always looking down on girls. If girls are more interested in fashion/ arts and humanity instead of Math and IT per say, their interests will always be portrayed less important. Parents go for gender neutral toys because they look down on their daughter's interests too, that's sexist and no better.

Also ive seen some video on youtube on this topic

it shouldnt be shameful to be feminine and a character shouldn't have to be ultra feminine and mean to be interesting although that might be for some

it angers me when people think femininity isn't cool and that being cool is only a men thing.

  • The bad thing about ultra feminity is that it often comes with inefficient use of resources, mass consumerism, and increased pollution. If excessive shopping and use of personal care items was removed from ultra feminity, then there would not be a problem.

For example, I feel guilty just for washing my hair every day. I feel guilty about the pollution and habitat destruction the beauty products I use may cause both in their manufacture and after I'm done with the container.

this is histerical u think makeup is the cause for pollution how about cars which is more of a "masculine" thing and all the fancy machines men love to get??

Cars are non-gendered in my book. They are a form of transportation. But if you are talking about race car driving, car collecting, and luxury cars...yeah.

Collecting gadgets and toys is non-gendered. I actually have more feminine relatives who are "collectors."

Someone should tell me I shouldn't be in kpop with my opinions because weekly kpop shows are an immense mis-allocation of resources. As well as fan merch. And I'm planning to buy some useless, polluting fan merch in the future by the way.

  • Man I fucking love ultra-femininity, I don't think it makes you any less of a feminist if you're ultra-feminine. I think it makes you amazing, because you're giving a huge "fuck you" to anyone who thinks feminism=adapting a more masculine look and lifestyle. I'm very feminine myself but my words sadly don't show it IMO, thats how I get em. They think you're dumb cause you wear pink and do your nails, but then you destroy them in debates. Love that feeling. Retaining your femininity in the face of mocking misogynists is in of itself feminism.

You could walk all over me and i would thank you after lol

    Very nice argumentation

I think i could be ultra male and still support gender equality and all genders and sexual orientations

There is no "ultimate feminist" and if there is they probably won't look like a boy cause that would beat the concept of being unapologetically a woman and being strong and respected

The irony here is, they do all this because they think they help women to be seen equal, yet all they do is trying to get rid of femininity and want women to be more as something that is considered “masculine” instead of showing that it’s just as good.

About parents raising their children gender neutral, there are no real scientific studies that shows how beneficial this type of parenting can be for kids. So currently it’s an experiment and we will see in a few years time how this worked out, if these kids were really more happy than kids who were not raised like that. For me personally, I think instead of getting rid of genders, we should get rid of gender roles that are restricting.

  • Yes, I also don't think style should matter at all. But to be honest through my own experience it often goes like this:

"Why are you so adherent to gender norms if you're such a feminist?" and it's like, well I'm not adhering to jack shit. I like girly styles, so I wear them, but that doesn't mean I'll let some fuckass dude treat me badly because I'm a girl. Often times they're still sexist to girls who adopt a more "tomboyish" style, calling them transphobic slurs, bringing up penis envy, like shut up! Women can't wear shit without being criticized, so the ultimate feminist is simply the person who lives however they like while supporting gender equality.

I like my feminists ultra feminine, boy or girls

    This !

It should be about embracing femininity unapologetically and not minimize it to be more acceptable and by that indirectly supporting the prejudice by misogynists.

It doesn’t matter how feminine you are or if you’re more masculine, at the end of the day you’re still a women and for that be treated differently in a patriarchal society and be victim of toxic masculinity and more.

So how feminine you are is obviously not the problem of the issues women are facing.

And yeah there are many people who noticed it and are being more vocal about it.

  • Being 'feminine' is only demonized by a few sectors of feminism (the extreme ones), whose ideologies are still rooted in several stereotypes of what being a woman is. I think the movement as a whole, maybe in an attempt to distance themselves from the patriarcal perspective of femininity, is still trying to find an answer to the question: "what's a woman?" But I believe that, at the end of the day, there's no final answer to the question because being a woman is about embracing who you are and that could be anything that makes you deeply happy.

But noone is doing the same for men

    This what is angering

Men can just be but women are being questioned about what should the characteristics of a woman be ?????

I think erasing stereotypical feminine traits is erasing femininity and mysogynist in itself or am I the only one who sees it that way ???

Some traits of women will be stereotypical some won't isnt that prrfectly normal ??

I dont understand how we are saying women are about being deeply who they are do women have no feminine characteristics from which they develop their personalities out of like men do with their masculine characteristics ??

  • Let's face it: women will be demonized until the end of days no matter how hard we try to prove people wrong.

  • Exactly, that’s what I mean when I said that people just flip a coin and call it a day, problem solved. For the sake of being more diverse, what was once considered the norm has to be demonized.

  • What what wise person once said “ people spend way more time and energy trying to get rid of the symptoms and with that fail to beat the sickness, which is the cause of the symptoms.

Being feminine is not the problem, it’s the stereotypes attached to it that is the problem and the consequences that fellows because of that.

    I agree with you.
