Where Lisa media training went ??

  • I know she's talking about Karaoke but she should really care more about what she say

she's currently a solo artist and trying to make a name for herself as one in the US

you can't say " i don't sing, i'm more of a dancer" or "it feels strange for me to grab the mic"

I hope she succeeds there but making this type of statement even when talking about Karaoke isn't a good look for anybody pursuing a singing career cuz non fans especially americans listener who never saw what she's doing and only watch the show and see her on their TV

will not come out of here thinking " Oh yeah i'm gonna watch this singer who's more of a dancer and find strange to grab a mic in a karaoke is able to do musically"

I hope Lisa will be a bit more careful in the future when she'll have interview cuz this type of statement is not something that a non fans would want to hear from someone they might be curious to discover more about her

But the interview was cute overall, Lisa have such a friendly and bright energy when doing interview that her personality might be a big help

  • I think her intention was to come off as relatable and honest, which is what these late night shows are known for showcasing.

I'll say that she should have emphasized that it's something that she's getting used to and excited about. Unless she did and this clip didn't include that context.

  • See this is where the language barrier comes into place... and yesss Lisa, honey, don't give such content to antis... :hey-bee:

If a group of friends are hanging out it would honestly be weird to just grab the mic and sing when/if you are a singer/artist/performer etc... This is what she means :gossip-raccoon:

She doesn't need media training... she is good at it, great even... she needs to improve her English... :farmer-bee:

She actually came to me as someone fun to hang out with and with who i would like to spend a night together at a karaoke

But i think the way she phrase it was really wrong

She should have said that like you said "because she's used to this and it's her job when she's hanging out with friends she wants to just have fun and doesn't want to feel like she's at work again"

Cuz the way she phrase it make her sound like she would do anything to step away from a mic

And i don't think it's a good look when you try to bring more people who don't know you to check your music

  • Tbh her recent choreos aren't really making her look like the dancer that she is supposed to be they be setting her up

    Well she's a soloist now

She will not go all out like she used to do in BP choregraphy where she can do her all when she wasn't the one singing

She have to sing for 3 minutes non stop

She know her technique and vocal skills aren't the best

So obviously she will not do crazy stuff that will leave her breathless in the middle of the song

    Please it's just logical

She know if she go all out people will criticize her vocal skills

And now that she try to find a great balance between making a great performance and make sure her vocal is stable, you all want to criticize her for her dance

  • Going all out during her performances could potentially invite more criticism, but not for that reason. Rather it would only make it more obvious that she's lip synching. It wouldn't affect her actual vocals, because we're never hearing them in the first place. But given how poor she is at lip synching anyway, she might as well try to make up for it another way.

Media training won't help if she has a cult of miserable bitches ready to take everything she says out of context anyway

English is Lisa's 3rd language and the one she's least comfortable with because she's never truly been immersed. Sometimes her vocabulary falls more on the simply side and her answers come off as awkward. She's still perfectly easy to understand.

  • The only media training is to never say anything otherwise people may clip it out of context :yesr:

  • i saw her interview in thai, and she was perfect. She was composed and her answers were smart.

I think it's because english is not her 1st language that some time her answers are shallow

  • I was so surprised when she said she won’t sing in Karaoke…..

That is so strange. If she is so pressured to even sing at Karaoke then how she will sing on the actual stage?

This just frustrated me as her fan. Idc if she fed antis with these words. To me she just made a big hint that we shouldn’t expect live singing from her at all. She basically admitted that she has no desire to improve her singing skills.

And every single performance be it fanmeeting or Oscars - just further proves this point.

I know she is a rapper, but now she has a lot of vocal inclined songs. If she doesn’t want to sing live, then she should just stick to rapping. Not only she will get hate from everyone for lypsinging, but her fans will eventually be frustrated by her.

Or if she wants to be labelled as a performer and not a “pop girl”, she should improve her performance skills and step up with her choreos. Kai from Exo is a perfect example of it. I have yet to see to sing him live but he is a fantastic performer and dancer. So he makes up with it.

  • I'm quite surprised at how...not good her English is when she's doing these interviews.

Speaking fluently in your 3rd language is much harder than you think it is. Her team consists of Koreans(I’m pretty sure), I’m also sure that she speaks with her members in Korean not English, since Jennie and Rosé didn’t influence her with their accents. Also she lived most of her life in Korea and Thailand.

She might perfectly understand English, but speaking it - is a whole different story.

  • Omggggg it is that difficult to understand the context???

She said she doesn't like to do it when she hangs out with her TWL group, she would rather cheer them on... (it would be more on the lines of oh im the singer so i just grabbed the mic and stared singing. When you go as a group it would be weird to do that, as in its just a polite gesture) you guys really act like Blackpink doesn't exists... Lisa literally sang/rapped throughout the world tour... yes there was backtrack but she was as live as much as Jennie Jisoo or Rosé...

She literally is working on herself and hence this solo venture... All this hate will not make her just get on the stage and start singing... With BP it's easier as she has members with her on stage, now she is solo, all this hate will affect her but is a person who will rather show than speak... Let's wait for her to get that courage and step up her game.
