Do you think BTS have already hit their peak in Korea?

  • Have BTS already peaked in Korea? 17

    1. Yes (15) 88%
    2. No (2) 12%

HYBE having a gutter trash dumpster juice reputation in Korea is something BTS probably could have overcome with the power of their incomparable brand normally, BUT Korea is clearly still ticked off about Suga's DUI and I still see netizen comments demanding his departure from the group all the time.

I know the Kings of K-Pop, Big Bang, have set an impossible standard of still hitting peaks in 3 different decades, but I'd always assumed BTS would be the same.

Now I wonder though. Have we already seen their peak numbers?

  • I think it depends on the song bc their last song even though "not promoted" or a "ballad" like some fans claimed didn't live up to their success, so what I'm saying is: idk if Suga scandal will truly affect them in SK, what I know is that their tts choice does.

Btw they have a huuuuuge kr fandom, I expect them to support their next cb as hard as they can.

  • Their comeback will be huge. But after that, it is just the existing ARMY, who all grow older get busy with life, with less and less time for "fan" activity.

They will still sell out concerts etc., but the explosive growth phase is over.

Happens to all acts, I don't see BTS being an exception.

  • I really can’t pick a vote on this. Their comeback has the potential to be absolutely massive.

Internationally, I can’t see them slowing unless they want to.

That’s the thing know - I have no crystal ball to know how much they want to or will have been changed by military service, or how much they’re fed up by Hybe or anything else, or how much they want to explore individual creativity and freedom.

They will come back together, and it will be huge… but Korean music fans seem like they can be pretty changeable, so I don’t think I can predict whether they’ll turn against them because of Yoongi, or buy into the hype and ‘forget’ everything.

  • Yes. After Dynamite and maybe Butter that was it for them. When they return it'll make noise but won't be as big as their hits before. They'll probably come back with something like ON and that'll be it for them. Jungkook will carry on their legacy once he comes back from the army. As long as HYBE doesn't spend more of their money on these other flop groups then everything will be fine.

I swear you're effortlessly 1000x more savage than me when you want to be :pepe-joy:

  • They've peaked. They'll still be huge but they won't be the phenomenon they were.

And this is just me, but most older male idols feel a bit sad when they comeback after the military or long hiatuses. Grown dudes in their 30s trying to look and act 16 -- it's a tough scene.

  • They haven't had a proper comeback since 2020. Their last album was released in 2020. Their last single was a farewell "off to military" song, released on the best of album.

Don't know about korea but their comeback will be huge, that's for sure.

There shouldn't be quotation marks for "not promoted" and "ballad " because that's the truth. Take Two is a song that was released on their 10th anniversary, it was meant for them and army. It was just released and that was that. You can't compare it with other singles.

I'm excited to see what direction they will take for their comeback.

Depending on the song they choose to release, they will do well internationally and might reach new peak since streaming services are bigger than before.

For SK, it will still depend on the song. I don't think they will have a bigger song than Dynamite.

    Wow, 900! 😲

I just want a proper album and proper comeback.

Agree. It will be especially interesting hearing the direction they are taking after their solos.

  • internationally no doubt they will pull 15m-20m s spotify streams easily and they have massive fandom and casual listner

    KOREA: depend on songs

If they release bwl type of song then i can see them achieving great sucesss.

Also it will delend on promotion also...if they promote like regular comeback then there is no doubt about it
