Physical album sales is artificial and anachronistic thing in Kpop. It should fade away.

I agree with MHJ,

Agencies were greedy to issue multiple versions, randomize photocards etc., all to squeeze fans, only for albums to be discarded road side.

Who seriously listens to physical albums these days, may few 1000 people when millions on albums are sold.

I wonder if SM's decision/idea to release the Whiplash Album T-shirt version on the 29th impacted sales. It's clearly the cooler/more superior version, so fans could be "waiting" on that

No it is not. Aespa released lesser version this round. SM dropped the versions in the following sequence:

1) Smini (no POB)

2) beat ver. (Have POB)

3) Speed ver. (No POB but will be for lucky draw events)

4) T-shirt ver.

Last time there were 5 types (regular, photobook, smini, poster and CDP version) but this time less by one type. Assuming T-shirt is the " special" version equivalent to CDP.

Illit had 550k pre-sales unless I imagined that

we need to hide this decline by banning physical album sales altogether in Korea

using 'Saving The Planet From Excessive Environmental Waste' as the fore-front to push this agenda.

everyones broke bish. During covid people had more money, now everything is more expensive and we can go out and spend money on other things.
