Thanks to the Le Sserafim controversy we wont get real choruses anymore

  • They did exactly what I expected with Crazy. In Easy, they "sang" the chorus but now its just "da da da da da ran da da"

Guys, it's officially Tik Tok song only time. We had Magnetic with "You, You, You, You", Touch with "Touch Touch Touch Touch Touch" and Supernova with "Ah O ay" go viral

It's officially over for songs with full choruses

I think its because choruses need to look the best performance-wise, but a song which is "hard" to sing will get backlash like Easy. So, Le Sserafim won't do those songs anymore. I really think its because of the backlash they got

  • People can't criticize you for not being able to sing if you don't sing at all :meme-think-about-it:

But yes, 2024 has been tremendously underwhelming for these top groups and the newer ones. I honestly don't know how it's come to this, but I hope to see it past. Lots of great songs still get released though by soloists, so it's not the end of the world for K-pop. I just consider it a chalked year unless the last quarter just switches it up for some reason.

  • nope it's not their fault

we were already in shitty situation

choruses became just a 'repeat' of few words

    example

    NJ - Attention

You got me looking for attention

You got me looking for attention

    Gakkeumeun jeongmal hetgallijiman bunmyeonghan geon

    Got me looking for attention

    BP - Pink Venom

This that pink venom, this that pink venom

    This that pink venom,
get 'em, get 'em, get 'em

Straight to ya dome like woah, woah, woah

Straight to ya dome like ah, ah, ah

Taste that pink venom, taste that pink venom

    Taste that pink venom,
get 'em, get 'em, get 'em

Straight to ya dome like woah, woah, woah

Straight to ya domе like ah, ah, ah

    even IVE went from this:

    Narcissistic

    My God, I love it

    Seororeul bichun bam

    Areumdaun kkaman

    Nunbich deo ppajyeo gipi

    (Neon naegero nan negero)

    Sum chamgo love dive

Ooh-ooh, ooh-oohLa-la, la, la, la-la-laOoh-ooh, ooh-ooh Eoseo waseo lovе diveOoh-ooh, ooh-oohOh, perfect sacrificеYeah, sum chamgo love dive (It's easy)

    to this:

    Watch me, don't touch me

    Lovе me, don't hurt me

    Watch me, don't touch mе

    Jumun georeo Accendio

    Watch me, don't touch me

    Love me, don't hurt me

    Watch me, don't touch me

    Jumun georeo Accendio

sadly it's just market demand, especially in Korea, they just want to have two or three lines of words in chorus and repeat them because it's easy and they "think" it's "catchy" because of that

  • im pretty sure this is just how songs in this genre are like but idkk

besides there are a bazillion kpop grps with a bazillion songs its not even that hard to find a song w a real chorus LOL

I agree it's the genre. For example, Alors on dance whole chorus is Alors on dance and the song was released 14 years (WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?)

  • I'm already a bit prejudiced against choruses sung by only one or two members. Not having a chorus at all definitely makes songs seem empty. That's why I loved to listen to Red Velvet. The chorus is always sung by 5 members no matter what kind of song they come back with. Also, Red Velvet's CB songs are usually 3-4 minutes long. I personally appreciate that they never follow trends. I think groups that always try to follow a trend become ordinary after a while.
