Nathaniel Hawthrone, best known for 'Scarlet Letter', wrote a book called the House of 7 Gables.
Long story short, Colonel Pynchon coveted the land of a chap named Maule, and had the latter executed for witchcraft. Upon death Maule cursed the Pynchon family.
About 200 years later, during the days of Lincoln (actually a bit before that but who cares), a guy named Holgrave shows up in the old Pynchon house where the last survivors of the family live a hardscrabble life , while Judge Pynchon, a relative who drove them to such misery, make their lives as unbearable as possible. The Judge also wants to find a claim to a huge chunk of land, as big as a typical New England state, which has been lost for years.
After a lot of gothic horror common in the books of that era, the Judge dies , and the secret of the deed, now worthless since 200 years have passed, is only revealed after that by Holgrave, who was revealed to be a descendant of Maule. Holgrave said the son of the executed Maule, a carpenter, hid the deed as a revenge for his father, and added this remark.
"They (the Pynchon family) bartered their Eastern territories for Maule's garden ground."
In other words, they exchanged their entire claim over a piece of land as large as a state, to take Maule's land.

Now, the singer who defeated BTS at home, and is considered to be the most popular singer of all by the people living in South Korea, an opinion not widely shared by the people of the world, had a total of
0
Stadium tours outside of Korea.
BTS had concerts at Wembley
KPop's Senior Singer had a concert at the OVO arena, and at its next door Taylor Swift was having a 4 day concert which was talk to the town.
But of course expectation on BTS and the Senior Singer are different. Nobody is expecting the Senior Singer to draw huge stadium size audiences outside of Korea, since she has virtually no presence as far as the world is concerened.
And,
tragically,
The Senior Singer's concert is the 2nd largest world tour held by anyone in KPop this year!
Only IVE's 2024 portion of the current tour is bigger, because IVE added 2 Tokyo Dome dates . (The 1,345 years old did add 2 days of the Soccer stadium but Korean concerts do not count)
KPop companies have become so risk averse that a Senior Singer with no permanent foreign following has launched the 2nd largest world tour of all .
It is like a large family, where everyone is just happy slacking off that the oldest singer, at the age of 1,345, has to go outside to earn the keep for the entire family!
IU playing second fiddle to Taylor Swift is the true state of KPop, back to playing sidekicks to the main character.
And the Koreans bartered an act which had conquered the world with a figure who barely fills arenas outside of Asia.
