Last year 4th gen will dominate 6
-
2025 - they'll outlast 3rd gen's peak (4) 67%
-
2026 - they're aiming for 2nd gen's golden years (2) 33%
-
2023 - 5th gen will dominate this year (0) 0%
-
2024 - this year will be their last year at the top (0) 0%
We all know 2nd gen peaked during 2008-2012 (Wonder Girls, Bigbang, Brown Eyed Girls, Girls' Generation, 2NE1, T-ara, Super Junior, Kara, 4minute, Beast, Miss a, 2pm, 2am, f(x), Sistar, Shinee...) and 3rd gen's peak was 2016-2018 (Twice, Gfriend, BTS, Blackpink, Mamamoo, Red Velvet, Exo, Winner, iKon, btob...).
2nd gen lasted longer and had many more successful groups. They also dominated the domestic music charts much more than 3rd gen groups did, very much like 4th gen ggs are doing at the moment.
Since 2022 was the year 4th gen groups started dominating Korean charts, is this year going to be their final year at the top or will they manage to last longer like 2nd gen?
