I've never understood this thing in kpop of fans donating for ads or worse... music show votes.

I mean, I guess it's peoples money, they can do what they want, but... it's donating money so rich people can get richer... weird.

I thought Kpop fans stopped bothering with Youtube a few years ago and it's all about Spotify numbers now

They're not on this Forum, they do "God's work on the main site". 🤣 Usually there are 3 Spotify articles about Blackpink every week. They reached that limit just one day. 🤣 Let them be, they don't have other things to talk about anyway.

I'm not sure how to buy Youtube ads since I'm just a donor.

tbh I think youtube does restrict views much more than ever before because they want companies to buy ads for their mvs. Even big Western artists' view counts are being affected; but the flip side of this is that now I feel like people care less than ever about youtube views and now it's all about spotify/melon (a bit ironic because I feel melon has at most a year left before it's no longer the most popular streaming service in SK).

It's crazy because 2015-2020 yt views were like by far the most prized "measure" of popularity it seemed.
