Can all these 4th gen gg's sell out stadiums in future?

  • NewJeans isn't even 2 years old yet. I know they're speed running K-Pop, but why are we talking stadium tours when their entire discography was able to fit inside a 45 minute set at Lollapalooza?

Two years into their careers, BP still didn't even have physical albums for fans to buy, and it took time for them to start selling albums like Twice, once they finally did.

NewJeans needs time and experience too. There is no rush. Why expect their first tour to be a stadium tour? No other girl group ever has been held to that standard

  • Not at all. Building solid fandoms take time and these girls simply haven't had the time yet. GG's have casual listeners who wander off when the next trendy group comes around who don't buy tickets. If they can maintain their momentum by the 4th-5th year then I'm sure they'll finally get to that point.

  • Idk how many i'll have to say this, bp and twice were not selling out stadiums in their first few years. aespa is already selling out domes in Japan. Ive, newjeans and lesserafim all debuted around 2 years ago, it'll take them at least another 2-3 years to even think about booking stadium-capacity venues in a country other than Japan.

Comparing where touring was for Kpop when Twice and BP debuted to where touring is for Kpop now is dumb. Aespa, NJ, LSF and others can only tour like their can now BECAUSE of groups like BTS, BP, and Twice reignited the Kpop craze in variously places around the world. It’s not a given that any of this groups will do stadiums at all.

It’ll be difficult for most of the group you mentioned to book stadiums in most countries outside Asia because their international fame just isn’t that big. Maybe NJs can do, they have the best chance.

BTS first Japan dome: Oct 2017 (4 years after debut)

BTS first US stadium: Oct 2018 (5 years after debut)

Blackpink first Japan dome: Dec 2018 (2 years after debut)

Blackpink first US stadium: Nov 2022 (6 years after debut)

Twice first Japan dome: March 2019 (4 years after debut)

Twice first US stadium: May 2022 (7 years after debut)

Most of these groups aren't even 3 years old, newjeans and lesserafim in fact aren't even 2 years old yet. Give them time for pity's sake, I literally said in 2-3 years which would make these groups 4-5 years old. Even one direction didn't have a stadium tour until their 3rd world tour and ya'll come here expecting these rookie groups to book stadiums worldwide :skull:

  • Nope. Only 2nd and 3rd Gen groups had those powers. For me personally I see a sharp decline in kpop. 3rd Gen was the peak of kpop and still is touring wise. 4th Gen groups will struggle with longevity and fandom power.

  • I can understand wanting to give these groups more time for the sake of fairness, but just so anyone doesn't get any ideas from all this comparing, I'd like to reiterate that it isn't simply a matter of time. These groups are not necessarily on the same trajectory as the ones currently selling out stadiums throughout the world, not even if it appears on a surface level that they're doing even better, and there is still a very high possibility that they will never tour internationally in stadiums, no matter how much time you give them.

2nd gen groups couldn't tour big outside of Korea & Japan. Not even SNSD. The Tokyo Dome was considered the end-all, be-all back then precisely because no one could go beyond it. That was the end game.

    I cannot believe this.

  • mind you, even Blackpink couldn't sell out mini fanmeeting tickets in 2019
