Drama turned me into a MY

I used to be the biggest MY in 2021 but for me personally, aespa started becoming less interesting since the end of 2021. I loved Savage and Dreams come true a lot, but Life is too short, Girls and Spicy were meh for me (I loved Welcome to my world tho). I've also always been interested in their lore and watched some of their variety content.

BUT DRAMA IS JUST SO AMAZING. THE MV, THE AESTHETIC, THE MEMBERS, THE SONG ITSELF, WINTERS AND NINGNINGS VERSES OMGGGGGGGGGG AESPA IS FINALLY BACKKKKKKKKKK

I've watched the MV 20 times today (I'm being fr rn)

There are groups that catch me and never let me go (Stray kids for example, I stan them since I got into K-Pop) and other groups that I find interesting but they don't really have ult potential (Usually it's bc I like the music but dislike one or more members). I never said aespa are my ults. NewJeans is my GG ult and Stray Kids my BG ult. There are a few comebacks from Skz I didn't like (I didn't like Thunderous and Case 143) but I never stopped stanning them bc I watch their variety content, I like all the members and I just like the group. But aespa is one of these groups with a member that personally triggers me (that's my own problem tho, and it's just bc they remember me of someone I know/knew personally), same goes for IVE, and these groups are hard to stan for me.

that's because I generally become a fan of a group because of the members and their interactions and personalities and a group doesn't lose that even if I dislike the music but to others it's the music that keeps them a fan and if they don't like the music they no longer like the group...

It's kind of like that for me. As I said in another reply, there are groups that I just like, no matter what song they release, and these are my ults. But other groups... Well, I'm here for the music and the aesthetics, I want to listen to nice songs and watch nice MVs. Members personalities honestly don't matter to me bc they're fake anyways. But if they are/look sympathetic to me, ofc that's another factor that drives me to the group (for bgs it's also attractiveness).

whereas even for a group who is not an ult per se there should be strong reasons for being a stan/fan...

to me if a person only likes the music then they like the music - it doesn't make them a stan or fan of the group - one merely likes the music - hell we all have free will and we can like (or dislike) literally any music but to be a fan/stan of a group (again in my opinion) requires something more than mere liking of the music and thus it's understandable if you dislike the one or more members that's completely your choice but then I would not classify you as a fan...

whether it's fake or not it's debatable but I will agree that their on camera persona may be completely different to their off-camera persona...it doesn't mean it's necessarily fake per se...

if the members personalities don't make you a stan....give me the reason why you become a stan of a group

for example you said SKZ are your ult - what about them makes you a stan of a group?

I like their music style, their MVs, the messages behind their lyrics, and yes, the persona the members portray. Stray Kids seem genuine most of the time. I like that all of them are artists. For example, Hyunjin is my Bias. Not only bc I like his dance style and his voice, but I also like the paintings he creates and the lyrics he writes. In a way, he is similar to me (at least his idol persona is). And ofc, he is visually appealing to me.

I usually don't like Boygroups but I just love Stray Kids. I like (almost) everything abt them. They are captivating. Every member seems interesting. I like the way they talk, the way they sing, the way they dance etc.

NewJeans is my female ult group. Not only because I like their music tho. I just feel like- ugh I hate to admit it bc it's delulu but I feel like I can relate to some of the members. I also like the image that they portray. They made my summer 2022 the most memorable one ever, their debut changed my life. They helped me get rid of writers block. Everything abt them is unique. I can relate to almost every single lyric they sing. I love their Music Videos.
