Yes, aespa could've sung Gods. A lot of groups could. But part of what made Gods such an interesting track for NewJeans to participate on is that it was a total departure from the type of music they've released thus far, and it was a great opportunity for them to test the waters with a different sound.

Your opinion on their vocals aside, the song was very well received by the League community. A lot more than the Lil Nas X song from last year. And the NJ members showcased their versatility, as this song was nothing like the "boring chill" music people accuse them of releasing normally.

I don't think there is an issue with pondering how aespa would've sounded on Gods. It's fun to speculate, but when you jump to criticizing NewJeans and saying other groups should've been on the song, aespa or otherwise (I've seen other groups mentioned elsewhere), it's a little antagonistic.

I agree. Aespa have those strong vocals. IDK they could've made it sound more badass. but New Jeans did good to. I think anyone could have made it sound good the beat and producing is just good.

Kpop fans might disagree, but to those wearing brand manager hats at major corporations it's a no-brainer in terms of brand value impact. NJ is most certainly top of mind if not top choice, if they can get them.

For NJ, they most likely turn down more deals than they get offered. But apparently, this was an attractive deal as this was the 10th anniversary and first time in the game's history for a Kpop group to do the Worlds anthem.
