Whatever ifans say, how much ever some “sections” Korean fan spew hate…EXO’s core fandom is extremely rock solid lol.

Ifans are just all bark and no bite. They can never walk the walk.

kfans will listen to that whole damn album on repeat like their life depends on it. And honestly power to them.

Nugudom or not EXO is EXO.

  • The opinion of their kfandom is also at the core, of highest importance, and that goes to the rest of the other groups too. The korean fandom's voices will always weigh heaviest. I-fans and their never ending virtue-signaling whenever issues on groups always causes a huge culture clash, and instead of being educated & informed on the culture divide, these ifans become more toxic and defensive as if they have some moral superiority over the kculture. Thus the tag "i-roaches" is the most fitting to them, as they should be called.

  • Korea also has the most views of EXO videos of any region on youtube this year, and Seoul by far has the most of any city.

The only region that is probably stronger than Korea is China, but unfortunately youtube/spotify are banned there so we never get a real picture of their streams; although obviously they buy the most physical albums by a lot.

  • Exo core fandom is always in Korea. Sm never really promoted them outside of Korea and China that much to really have huge loyal international fanbase. Sm biggest mistake with Exo especially when their peers like Bts, Bp and Twice now thriving with their international fanbase without concern that much about korea. One thing about Korea fanbase is they are often overdramatic, hardly to please and easily attacking their own idols over smallest thing like dating.

This is extremely stupid question but are their mvs (or kpop in general) uploaded on their YouTube like platform?

  • Whose? Chinese??? Yes, I think most of them are on YouTube.

No, no. I'm asking if exo mvs are uploaded on Chinese YouTube-like platform, whatever it's called their version. If yes, then we can at least have some numbers. If not, then i admire Chinese fandoms, i have no idea how they watch korean content (yes, VPN but that would be too much work for me)

Exo music/content, interestingly enough, was only available on smaller platforms, it wasn't up until few years ago that they joined big platfroms like Kugou. I just know that exo had 7 billion streams in China in 2019 alone and that they used to be the most streamed kpop bg there, I am not sure if that has changed since new boy groups started taking off there, so yes exo conwas available just not on all platforms, I think that changed now thankfully.

    Wow!

If I'm not mistaken 2019 was obsession era. A group with no chinese members plus two members were missing. Impressive!

No you can’t see those numbers any more because exo content used to only be available on one platform (think like bugs chart of China) and that platform and all its data is fully erased from existence.

You will see some stats about EXO’s performance after they moved to QQ and all that’s just stats post 2019 I.e obsession and later.

Without being available on QQ EXO’s total streams were higher than any other Korean act I remember this from old charts threads but anyway I‘ll have to look it up lol.

I've following EXO YT views since 2018 and and I believe this is more related to SEA markets moving to Spotify. The biggest countries for EXO in Spotify used to be SEA and Korea wasn't actually in top 5 :skull:

Funny thing is Koreans made the opposite trajectory, leaving Melon to use Youtube Music instead lol

EXO has a pretty strong SEA fandom. They have been touring in SEA since 2014 and never having any problem to sold out their venues. Most of EXO numbers from streaming platforms comes from SEA fans. It's a bit sad how important SEA fans are for both sales and streams yet nobody seems to recognize their work.

  • I mean Exist still has over twice as many streams on Melon than the whole world combined on spotify (obviously excluding China and other countries without spotify).

Also, when did the youtube start showing streams per region? I feel like it wasn't until 2021, and even then Korea was top 5 that entire year and Seoul usually the #1 city. I have no memory of them doing it in 2018, but maybe I just didn't care about that then idk.
