Girl group BLACKPINK (Jisoo, Jenny, Rosé, Lisa) is expected to remain as a member of the YG family.

As a result of Star News coverage on the 4th, all members of BLACKPINK, whose contract is about to expire at the end of August, are hardening their minds to renew the contract.

According to people closely related to the members, BLACKPINK members, whose contract is about 4 months away from expiring, intend to continue their relationship with YG Entertainment unless there is a special reason.

It seems that the influence of the world tour was cut.

BLACKPINK is currently conducting the largest world tour of a K-pop girl group with 1.5 million viewers worldwide.

BLACKPINK successfully completed 14 North American performances in 7 cities and 10 European tours in 7 cities last year, and is meeting Asian fans.

In mid-April, they will perform as headliners at the 'Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival' in the U.S. and at the 'Hyde Park British Summertime Festival' in the U.K. in July.

They have set brilliant records on leading overseas charts such as the Billboard charts, and have established themselves as 'global hot icons' to the extent that all members are active as global brand ambassadors.

If BLACKPINK renews their contract in August, YG Entertainment will continue as a strong pillar of K-pop, including G-Dragon, BLACKPINK, Winner, Akdong Musician, Treasure, and the rookie girl group Baby Monster, who are about to debut.

It's not that Star News isn't reliable but it's in very bad taste to say "They're 'going' to renew but have not officially done" so yet because that means artist formalities and perks have not been ironed out, and the deal might fall through.

For example, SM mediaplayed with SNSD's renewal similarly, and then released a statement saying Seohyun, Sunny..etc were still discussing.

It's likely all 4 have resigned, but to not officially say so in a letter (a la Seventeen/Pledis) before pushing the public approval is wrong.

You can sign "an agreement in principle" which is a legally binding contract that both sides say they agree to do business while the details are being ironed out.

It's my belief that BLACKPINK signed this in January according to my sources.

As I stated. They most likely signed an agreement in principle. A contract to agree to sign the contract. Legally binding.

YGE would've released an article if they renewed early, there's literally no reason to delay an announcement.

An agreement in principle isn't "renewing early". It's a preamble to a contract.

This is something that has come through in the financial world in Korea talking.

It's a safe bet to assume. Major contract negotiations typically have an agreement in principle.

They aren't BLACKPINK without YG. Quite literally, as YG owns the name and discography.

And YG isn't successful without BLACKPINK. Both sides know this. That's why I think YG backed the Brinks truck to the members and they most likely have an unprecedented contracts with unprecedented compensation.

But the ones that are cheering for BLACKPINK to leave YG is forgetting one thing...besides the name and discography staying with YG...the feelings of the members themselves. They've built relationships with people in YG and practically grew up there. Probably hard to fight the feeling of people you know the best.

The members call Teddy and Vince the 5th and 6th members of BLACKPINK.

Kpop fans' feelings don't matter. Not having 1374875 comebacks a year isn't mistreatment.

Stop and think. The girls are doing what they want now and having exactly the schedules they want now. It's about what THEY want. Not what YOU want as fans.

And the ones that have the theory they're moving to THEBLACKLABEL. That's just as fine. THEBLACKLABEL = YG. They are the same people. Hell, the buildings are literally connected.

Who do you think is going to have the biggest ownership of TBL when it goes public later this year??? Teddy and YG. They're the same company ran by the same people.

YG was the one to tell Taeyang to go to TBL to boost the IPO.

Who do you think got the biggest actor free agent in the history of Korea to sign with THEBLACKLABEL? And who do you think is managing him. TBL has zero resources and staff to manage actors. YG has one of the biggest acting rosters in Korea. with some of the biggest resources.

Of course YG is managing Park Bogum. YG Director and his best friend Sean convinced him.

So to those cheering BLACKPINK to go to THEBLACKLABEL. That's completely fine by YG. Heck, 2 of them could move to TBL and 2 could stay with YG.

It would have absolutely zero affect on them as a group.
