Artists from the same company have the same sound - Do you agree?

  • I just realised this when I was listening to some songs that there are artists in companies who almost sound the same.

    Examples:

Universal Music Japan -> Example OCTPATH & OWV

    OCTPATH

  • Nope Nope Nope

If DAY6 would've released Xdinary-songs you wouldn't even notice that its not DAY6 and if Stray Kids would start to sing in Chinese you would think they are Boystory

But thing is Day6 wouldn't release Xdinary songs because Day6 write their own songs to fit their sound they don't "write Xdinary Heroes" songs and will never "write Xdinary Heroes" songs and sing them

Same for Stray Kids, and their Chinese pronunciation will probably suck as as a person who speaks Chinese I will probably know

    ;judgingpepe:;judgingpepe:

  • depends?

but I do agree that some vocal tweaks in editing/filters and the way Idols are told to sing sometimes might suggest that

if you look at some recent aespa - RV - Got the beat songs

    for example

would you say that was Red Velvet song?

    same with Stamp on It

  • most big companies employ in-house producers to make music for their groups so i guess is not surprising that sometimes their music sounds similar

honestly that can even be a plus, for example if you like a group then you are likely to also like other artists under the same company

  • most big companies employ in-house producers to make music for their groups so i guess is not surprising that sometimes their music sounds similar

I looked at the 4 artists from my example and non of them has any same producers, many of them even have western people as producers

The only thing I noticed it that JAY'ED worked on a lot of BALLISTIK BOYZ's songs, he is an singer under LDH and ELIONE worked a lot on PSYCHIC FEVER's songs (ELIONE is a rapper under a company called Solid Sky Entertainment)
