i get you, i also have a soft spot for their older stuff, "Future" "Natsu Neiro" and "one piece" are among my favorites songs, my favorite SCANDAL album is "Hello World" which is 8 years old already

for now Haruna is the only one doing Kpop-like stuff, if is just a casual thing then is fine, i used to like Kpop before so is not like it is something i'm unfamiliar with

still, JRock or even "instrumental" pop songs are my favorite genre, in Japan SCANDAL are synonymous with Rock so it would be shitty if they ended as a Kpop wannabe band but i don't believe that's going to be the case

speaking of Jrock, to me the Chilli Beans. are the best new band around, i don't know if you heard of them

SCANDAL are always doing something different in each album, for example "Queens are trumps" was metal and heavy rock,"Hello world" was inspired in American Rock and R&B, "YELLOW" was more on the EDM side

i get people are disappointed when they like one of their releases and the next one is completely different, personally that's one of the things i love about them

SCANDAL were fed up with being seem as the "standard" for girl bands, one of the reasons they created their own label was because their former company keep pushing the "girl" angle

that's a very interesting topic to go on, i like to expand more on it but is long and complex, maybe one day i make a post about it because they really had a tough time being a female band in a mostly male scene, Rina once spoke about how they weren't taken seriously not even by their company

so right now they don't want to be seems as a "girl band" they just want to do their own thing

back to topic, Haruna always liked fashion, the other members used to tease her because she likes expensive brands like chanel, dior, Gucci

Mami on the hand like to buy clothes from second hand markets and then modifies them to create new looks, Rina and Tomomi fall somewhere in the middle

when you look individually at them they all are really different people yet they get along really well with each other, i believe it was Tomomi who said that they hand spend more time of their lives together than with their own families

i was surprised when she started posting about Kpop, i discovered SCANDAL in the early 2010's and i had a different impression of her, i always felt that she was a hard rock fan

although i recall hearing that back in 2008 or so she was a fan of SNSD and also a Cassiopeia / Cassie (TVXQ's fandom)

i do find it funny that the no nonsense and straight forward Haruna ended becoming an auntie fan

i like this version too, i guess the song is just that good that? all different takes sound good

this is a "remake" of Tofubeats "Suisei" which was released exactly 10 years ago, the original song featured Seira Kariya and now she got to make her own take on the song!

the title can also be read as "That smile" (Ano means "that" in Japanase) this is ano's first collab since becoming a solo singer, the song is going to be included in AAAMYYY's new album "ECHO CHAMBER" which goes out on sale next month!
