how much money would there need to be in the contract for you to sign away your kid's childhood to an agency so they can hopefully transform them into a huge kpop superstar in the future and they buy you all sorts of neat stuff like a house or a car?

Changed the title of the thread from “how much money would there need to be in the contract for you to sign away your kid's childhood to an agency so they can hopefully transforme them into a huge kpop superstar in the future and they buy you all sorts of neat stuff like a house or a car?” to “how much money would there need to be in the contract for you to sign away your kid's childhood to an agency so they can hopefully transform them into a huge kpop superstar in the future and they buy you all sorts of neat stuff like a house or a car?”. -
My daughter is going to college.

Hmm, I wouldn't for all the money in the world.
But, if my kid said they were interested, then I would support them. I'd probably say they can't debut before the age 16, and I would be watchful.

Yeah, let's generalize a whole country of parents because of two prominent cases of absentee parents.
There was also Hyuna's parents who pulled her from Wonder Girls because of her age and schooling, or that boy group who's parents got together to boycott the company because of mistreatment. Let's forget them lol.

Some idols are already rich. It is like their parents investment to increase familys overall wealth. Which is quite sad imo.

Everytime theres a case of underage idols or any idol for that matter getting mistreated by their company fans always scream "How could the parents allow this to happen"?
They let it happen cause if they rock the boat they risk their kid getting kicked out of the group and company. They'd rather their kid stick it out and don't make trouble cause that could jeopardize the money flow (however small it may be).
Look at the conditions that boy group from TS Entertainment was living in. Why didn't the parents rescue them?

Yeah, but that's not a Korean parent thing. That's a bad parent thing.

Also strange that somebody who grew up watching American Childstars come out of the woodwork saying they were s*xually ass**lted left and right, rejecting their family and fame that this is a Korean issue.

Well my daughter is already grown up with a good job and nice car so it's all immaterial.

reminds me of this quote
Churchill: Madam, would you sleep with me for five million pounds?
Socialite: My goodness, Mr. Churchill… Well, I suppose… we would have to discuss terms, of course…
Churchill: Would you sleep with me for five pounds?
Socialite: Mr. Churchill, what kind of woman do you think I am?!
Churchill: Madam, we’ve already established that. Now we are haggling about the price.
(okay it might actually have been churchill)
