In the long run it matters, especially if your using ear buds which will damage your hearing faster than headphones because it keeps the pressure and sound trapped in your ear canal. Even just pumping high volume in to a room via speakers will harm your hearing over time. I'm 40 and my favorite saying is "huh?" But i"m also stupid and still use earbuds and play my music to loud.

I just checked how loud the music has got to be for my phone to start sending me these notifications... But tbh it actually physically hurt before I even got the message.

I don't like loud music and my ears are sensitive so like low volume music.

I'm using an earphone and I like to changing the device, so when I plugged into my laptop, while the volume is 100% and I forgot to turn it down.. yeah it hurts

But idk, maybe there are certain people who are really sensitive, while the other spectrum are more resilient, and the rest are in between

ive gone through many earbuds and after three months i generally had to listen to them in really high volumes above the safety cause thats the only way i could actually hear music since they were used up

i would def not listen to it too loud

i keep it a volume that is confortable for me

I don't get any notifications, my phone lowers the volume itself without a warning I always have to turn it back to max again, please let me damage my ears in peace while being happy.

When I’m working out, I blast my music in my AirPods lol

Yeah I sometimes get ringing ears and I'm pretty sure it's from how loud I listened to music and going to music shows and concerts as a teenager 😅 I try to be mindful of the volume now.
