Without overwhelming support from teenage girls, BTS would have lost to IU in 2022, despite of the inconvenient fact that IU did NOT release any song this year.
If she just released one single before her concert, she would have beaten BTS.
2023 will be interesting. IVE, NewJeans and aespa will divide the teen votes, while Lee Jieun, who is likely to release a single earlier next year even if she gets to act in the rumored drama, will solidly maintain the 30s votes, so it is likely that , after all these years of KPop, the forces of reactionarism will triumph again in K-O-R-E-A in the year 2023.
