YG Entertainment has announced they will be taking legal action against the original distributor of Jennie‘s personal photos.

In a statement shared with various media outlets including Xportnews, YG Entertainment has shared that they will be taking legal action against the individual who originally spread Jennie’s personal photographs.

"This is YG Entertainment.

We have officially requested the police to investigate the original distributor of BLACKPINK Jennie’s personal photographs. We have been monitoring the situation and submitted our complaint in September after gathering information.

YG has refrained from commenting and expressing our position in the past to minimize the damage. However, we felt a sense of responsibility that it was no longer possible to condone the mass spread of rumors, criticism, personal attacks, sexual harrassment, and privacy violations that were coming with the personal photographs. Therefore, we would like to clarify that we are taking legal action to rectify the situation.

YG is taking strong legal action against the posts that damage the reputation of our artists. We would like to inform you that this case is being filed for violations of the Information and Communication Network Act, violation of illegal information and distribution, and obscene use of communication media.

We will take all possible legal action without any leniency to prevent further damage in the future. Photos that were circulated online were illegally released, regardless of the intentions behind them. The act of sharing these photos can be considered a secondary offense and subject to legal punishment. We sincerely ask you to avoid recklessly sharing them.

YG Entertainment will continue to work hard to protect the rights and interests of our artists."

Makes sense. YG has always stayed out of the idols personal life it's one of the only agencies that allow idols to date without questions. So them " doing nothing" at the time made sense, because if they remain out of the situation anything going on with the idols can be denied.

Now with them taking action it basically brings legitimacy to the leaks and I think that's what the leaker wanted, confirmation of the relationship. They played this game well YG had a damned if you do damned if you don't moment this person got them dead to Rights and Jennie girl you got some explaining to do, not about this relationship but the total lack of security of your devices. As an IT Administrator I have had to update the security of many people be it personal friends family or colleagues at work soo many people used weak passwords, no passwords, weak pins,pattern unlocks no 2factor authentication.

As a idol your security should be number one on the priority of things same with who you trust your hardware with. Nobody but your most trusted associate should be holding your phone etc.

This "hack" was not a traditional "hack" nobody found BP and sat in front of their house trying to probe what wifi network id it was beute forced in and started snooping. Nobody sat around trying to sniff out her 5g signal and hacked in lol. Nah some clown poked around the obvious easy "hacks" from friends or herself being too lax about security and guessed a password email or phone number got in and got the "goods" being a idol with a twig in your door as a lock is irresponsible and niave. When you should have a deadbolt and second lock on your door. It should never be that easy cause this person had Instagram iCloud and something else 😂🤡 that shows lax security more than anything else.

we already had someone else come out and leak all the photos that they claim gurumi was holding on to and they said that gurumis source for the photos included YG staff and saesangs so rather then them "hacking" just seems like people from the inside were selling/ leaking these photos to gurumi.
