The hypocrisy all around

  • i'm sorry but it wasnt. they had a lot of available tickets near the date and im pretty sure they had to close out the upper sections.

Keep in mind that BTS was and continues to be the only concert held in that stadium. So the capacity quoted is in reference to sporting events. We don’t know the capacity for a concert would be because it hasn’t been disclosed because only BTS has ever held a concert there. Even the current kcon there wouldn’t be able to “sell out” that stadium or they would have held it there. I am just glad that BTS will no longer be the ones taking the bullets and more kpop groups can feel the heat and their hypocritical fans won’t get any sympathy from me.

  • throw the NFT talk while we're at it too

I do remember a few other groups getting shit for it, but not even compared to the mere possibility of BTS being part of it lol

    Now its just ordinary news

  • People just just love to point fingers at others. There is no country in the world which didn't do despicable things.

Personally, I find this kind of "moral superiority" disgusting.

The list is unending when it comes to BTS, they even got hated for not speaaking up for BLM, then for speaking up and making donation, then for AAPI hate when they met Biden, for releasing 3 English songs and being called sellouts. For remixes, when every big name artist has multiole remixes of their songs, it just goes on and on. This year they were ready to be mad at BTs for the WC song.

  • It's incredibly sad and unfair to the fans from there. Just because your government does some horrible things(that you probably have 0 control over) doesn't mean you don't have the right to see your favorite artists perform.

And some people are pathetic, upholding weird standards for BTS and staying silent when others or even their own favs do the same. X/

And in my opinion, some people who say those things have some racist undertones in their comments as well but that's a whole another convo.

Anyway, this should have never been a controversy, ever.

this though, I literally saw people on youtube saying that BTS only donated cus they didn't want to get dragged by people. Like what???? From what I heard they donated anonymously and black lives matter were the ones that revealed they donated. Plus what kind of people in their right mind donates 1 million dollars just so that they don't get "cancelled".

Infact they didn't even have to speak about blm but they did. Some people are just freaking delusional and will literally feed themselves lies to hate on people.

  • I mean, I don't think kcon should be held there, but money wins in the end ig

i will never get this kind of thinking.

artists perform for their FANS, not their country's government.

saudi arabia is somehow a problem but artists performing in the us, a country that's KILLED MILLIONS OF PEOPLE, is fine.

americans doing crimes all over the world is that normalized, people don't even see them as such, it's just the thing they do. but other countries doing exactly the same are called terrorist states and are called out for human rights violations. THAT'S hypocrisy.

artists should go everywhere where they have fans, fans deserve the opportunity to see their faves live

  • Sure, it ain't fair. However I'd rather have artists perform in countries where people at least have human rights (and/or have free speech) rather than country which doesn't have human rights. Is america a shitty country? Yes, but at least their citizens can complain about. Saudi Arabia's citizens can't. I think countries with a lack of free speech should pay the price.

Edit: To be fair I didn't say anything about how promoting in the west is good as well in my original post, I do understand your point though. America isn't a nice place to live in, it's a wet dream of everything wrong in Western society and capitalism as a whole. The problem is there's no easy solution to promoting in (in this case, capitalist/monarchist) countries without promoting the country itself. This includes South Korea, K-pop makes us fascinated with the culture, and the society. The thing about the USA is that much of the pop culture globalized is separate from the actual society. Of course, I do think that's relatively changing as we see movements such as BLM getting/got popularized, but when I think of American culture I think of Hollywood, fast food, diversity, stuff which can be seen as inaccurate to the society. On the other hand, I do think of America's greed when I think of the USA, and the price of individuals have suffered due to the corporations there. In countries such as Saudi Arabia, I think the culture and society are majorly inter-connected. I think that's where my distaste to globalizing comes from, not that South Korea is good either. I'd love to see people enjoying K-pop, but, idk, unless it's on the internet I can't really see past the government itself.

TLDR: dismiss my first point. Sorry for getting political, I had a shower and had I a lot of thoughts on my mind lol
