the Chinese version is really good..but when Korea's director adopt the drama, it became super cringy..

Chinese version is terrible. it's a parody show with lots of farting as jokes, awful acting and is really cheep looking (which i wouldn't even notice if everything else was good) so if someone is into that...

the chinese version was suppose to be cheap looking. they had an extremely low budget so the director had to get creative and that resulted in one episode of them just promoting a pill ad that was willing to sponser them LOOL. The whole show and the audience knew how bad the budget was.

I can't say much about the male actors but the female lead was pretty good and I'm happy the drama did really well (Like so well the government had to ban it) and the lead actors got recognition for it.

Is it the best story/plot line/ dialogue I have ever seen? No but it had it's quirky ness and it told a story that was quite refreshing considering the gender-bending/ time travel/ humor which MANY dramas have started to copy off of.

The censor board never said why they banned it but it's probably due to the drama having time travel/ bisexuality/gender identity/sexual scenes/

The censorship board is a pain in the ass, even just a little bit of cleavage they will ban your show

For Mr.Queen, I think it gets better per episode. Episode 1 was ok like the whole story of him being a chef in the beginning was meh but after he switched bodies with the queen, thats where it got good

is it really bad? I have it on my to-watch list. I will watch it when I am in the mood for comedy

I know all of that :) i didn't even get to the viagra promotion part (was it viagra? : D i forgot) i dropped it because i really couldn't torture myself anymore. The humor was so cheap, I really don't find long loud farting funny.

Like i said, it's a parody show, nobody expected it to be high budget, and if i liked the story i wouldn't even notice it. Romance of tiger and rose is my fave cdrama (and i watched and dropped many) and it was apparently low budget but i didn't even notice it lol.
