I'm curious about the concept but BP is the last and only KPop group I will completely stan.
-
-
Praying for them. they have some huuuuuuuuge challenges to go through :
- Get out of BP shadow
- Sell well like BP
- Not sound / look / act like BP
- Blinks who will drag them to hell and back if they dislike YG treatment of BP
I personally wouldn't want to be part of the ngg of yg after BP. I think that's why they debuted XG silently with a weird marketing
-
-
And you think ygngg will be the breadwinner? lmao, BP is the main source of income and yg won't throw that away for 7 or 8 girls that don't even know if will be succesful enough.
2ne1 were definitely not nugus but weren't the breadwinners of the company at the time of their disbandment, even not the 2nd most succesful act by then. Bigbang and Winner were doing better numbers by 2016 and Minzy leaving put a nail on a coffin that was ready to deliver since 2015.
BP is the most succesful act under yg, doesn't have any controversy and members already renewed, keep wishing on their disbandment cause it won't happen.

2NE1 was at the top of the industry and still breaking worldwide records in 2014, they were only poised to get bigger.

Not really, their sales weren't that big and there was a large gap between them and BB, so they were completely expendable specially after Bom situation.
2nd gen was stuck in SK and after the news article and YG response Bom career was dead, so was 2ne1 hopes to success.
For BP there is anything like that, if the girls comes out with depression and antidepressives the korean public may get mad but they won't be boycotted and it won't harm them in anyway.

isn't BP 2ne1 2.0? all the songs for 2ne1 were saved so BP can debut and have them. they look much better than 2ne1 and alot younger, business decisions were made. so simple
-
Good luck to them 👍

if they get more music than bp, we'll have a building to burn.

They will get more music for sure initially. As a company, it's terribly risky and unhealthy to have all it's eggs in a single basket.

YG today don't have the same clout as pre-scandal YG.

BP is a mix of 2ne1 and SNSD.
BP was originally going to be YG SNSD (TV himself said it multiple times) having the looks and formula of SNSD mixed with the YG ness/swag of 2ne1.
YG flopped creating SNSD because most of the trainees left so they basically became a pretty version of 2ne1. Though I guess you could say that YG still achieved this goal.

2NE1 was still at the top of the industry regardless of how many copies Crush sold. They crushed (pun not intended) the record for highest album peak on the Billboard 200 and was the first group to chart decently well in Europe all with 0 promotions. Big Bang, nor any other group, couldn't do what they were doing on intl charts at the time and they would've defo broken more records if they released something in 2015.

2NE1 charted a lot better in the west. They were both big. YG is just favors their boy groups a LOT more

Forever young has been informed to never be a 2ne1 demo. Can these ugly ass 2ne1 stans leave

And where is the source for that?

They weren't please. SNSD was selling the double back in 2014 and got a higher tour with a bigger demand in japan. BB was doing that too, they were selling the triple of 2ne1 in 2015 and got a better touring. 2NE1 wasn't necessary for yg hence they disbanded after Bom situation and Minzy leaving, there was no future for them.

They still raked in $16-20M or so in half of 2014 alone, so obviously album sales don't mean everything. 2NE1 were breaking records and charting better internationally than any other group at the time. They is no good reason why they disbanded them and kept less bigger artists, except pure misogyny.

Omg don't be delusional, their focus was always korea because they weren't going to make it big in the states, bom had an scandal and minzy left. THERE WAS NO FUTURE for them. Plus yg had Bigbang and 2 promising bgs, they didn't need 2ne1 at that point.
Now BP is their only relevant act. History won't be repeated
