This isn't exclusive to kpop. There are many companies who go off on that "we're a family thing." No, we're at a job and we're coworkers. Some coworkers may be motherly/fatherly (making brownies or planning people's birthday celebrations), some coworkers may be friends inside and outside of work, but it's still fundamentally a job.
