did you know right away that you liked it?
How did you get introduced to kpop?

Someone posted Super Junior on an anime forum I was on back in like 2006. I wasn't a fan.

I discovered K-pop on tv TV channel MTV Vietnam when I went to Vietnam in July 2009.
There were 2 K-pop songs that stayed in my mind after watching them on the TV channel MTV Vietnam :
BIGBANG - HARU HARU(하루하루) M/V :

I hear those 2 songs everywhere in the streets, restaurants and shops in Vietnam in July 2009.
I became more interested into Asian pop music afterwards.

I'm interessted in many genres so, I asked a friend what music she listens to and she said kpop
She then wrote a list with some kpop songs and I checked them out
I liked some of them and I watched some more kpop MV's
(I already heard Gangnam Style, Gee and Run Devil Run before her recommendations but I never knew that they were kpop songs)

The amount of times I've answered this question., I'd be a millionaire. It was in 2011 when my daughter was 9, and she was watching TV on a sunday morning going through the channels , when SBS PopAsia came on and the songs they were playing were catchy and they were singing in a different language, we both thought it was cool and kept watching then both became fans of it. She hardly listens to it now and I'm not a big fan of the modern stuff. I'll always prefer second gen.

K-dramas. I was amazed to learn some of the lead actors were also members of pop groups. Then I wanted to start listening to kpop and so I did.

I’m 2009 my uncle really liked superjunior and 2ne1 (till this day the only Kpop he’s heard of lmao) but it wasn’t really my vibe. Around 2010 I was on YouTube and discovered snsd and some random songs I didn’t really become a fan but would come back and watch the mvs or new songs occasionally because I liked the mvs.
Then when I made a new friend in 2013 who was a huge Kpop stan and he kept showing me a bunch of different Kpop acts but nothing was clicking with me until bts debuted (which I didn’t like at the time) and when they had their first comeback I finally stanned my first Kpop group After bts I started liking more Kpop

Are you sure that it was in 2008 that you discovered K-pop ? Because the song "Gee" from Girls' Generation only came out in 2009.

One friend introduced me to kpop with super junior's Mr simple and I started to like it.
But in the past I knew about gee thanks to another friend but didn't get into kpop yet

My nephew showed me Run Devil Run. I liked it but didn't get into kpop until I decided to study Korean and looked for music to use as a fun study aide. I don't study Korean anymore, but still love kpop lol
-
My cousin introduced me to SNSD's Run Devil Run (and she didn't even listen to kpop) in 2010, but that was the only song I knew until my college friend introduced me to Infinite, DBSK, SuJu, and EXO around 2011.
It took about a year before I started looking for songs on my own (I kept failing when i first tried lol).
