How do you feel about groups who stay on indefinite hiatus and don’t officially disband?

Feel awful if the members themselves are already asking for a comeback but the company didn't give any light about it

Anyways, it sucks when groups do that cause the fans won't be sure on whether their group will truly disband or not. It also brings the group's popularity down eventually when the fans start paying attention to more active groups.

Depends... I dont think some groups or companies are that desperate for money

I don’t like the idea but sometimes it’s obvious they won’t come back anytime soon but that they will cb at some point. It’s more understandable in that case

I don't really like it. Doesn't provide proper closure and gives false hope.

Sometimes I just wonder, what are their contract clause regarding this indefinite hiatus?

It especially sucks when everyone calls them disbanded and than there is a row of delulu people who be like: "How dare you call them disbanded? They will FOR SURE drop a comeback!!!1!!1!!!11!!!" and than never do

I feel bad for both the members and fans. Members should be released from the contract and allowed to pursue their own career. Fans shouldn't be dragged along like that just for them to never come back.

I really have that fear for my faves.

They don't disband so that the label can continue on milking the fans with merch and dvds.

But the truth is I want music and tours, not "side gigs".

For these reasons I keep my expectations low and try to move on.

It's been more than one year since their last comeback with just a digital song and I am losing hope for their return

It's classic damage control.It's much easier to gradually trickle out of the industry rather than announcing a disbandment and getting all the negative attention + most likely have your stocks drop.

i prefer it then outright disbanding but so long as they're clear about when they will next comeback and don't keep promising comebacks which never happen.

Imho, it's worse than straight up announcing that said group will disband since at least with an announcement fans will get closure. Uncertainty hurts y'all.
