    loving yourself + being positive

Such a great message and one that needs to be talked about more.

  • about not giving up despite falling short over and over again

  • I agree. That actually is a pretty good message. I knew Ddeng had a message about anger, but I never read the lyrics from that song as much as I should have, so I didn't know it meant that. I'll definitely need to check out the video you linked. Also, this is something I sadly know from personal experience. Getting angry all the time is tiring, so it's better so save my anger for when I'm actually outraged.

A really important message that I wish more people took to heart. Also, that part about getting B's and what it can be like hit way too hard and close to home. RM really is a genius lyric writer, heck, even a genius song maker in general.

There are so many, but these are a few that resonate the most with me at the moment:

    1. Abyss by Jin

He told us that he wrote Abyss in a time where he was experiencing a burn out after the succes of Dynamite. The comparison between that utter gaping hole that is depression with the ocean and drowning is something I relate to so much. You keep gasping for air, for ‘release’ of those heavy saddening feelings and numbness that keeps weighing you down. The desire to just live like everyone else around you. Everyone living their lives, happy and sad moments, while you are drowning in your own endless abyss.

    2. So Far Away by Yoongi, Jin and JK

How I interpret this song is the longing towards having a dream, because a dream brings personal development and progress. A drive to work harder and do better to achieve it. But instead you’re just stuck in place, not able to move forward or maybe too scared to move forward to achieve a dream that maybe is there but that seems too far out of reach.

    3. The Last by Yoongi

This song, this fucking song. Shortly explained Yoongi talks about his depression and anxiety in this song. The first time I heard it, my bias switched immediately to him. Simply because he was the first person in my entire life to make me feel like I’m not alone. Everyone experiences mental illness differently, but I felt so heard and seen through this song. Even now, when I listen to this; I close my eyes and just let every feeling it brings me wash over me. I feel sad, angry, frustrated but near the end euphoric. It’s as if Yoongi encourages me to get through this, that even after all the bullshit I can still make something of my life. Still enjoy it, there’s still time. He did.

Just a nice comfort song with the message that you will never be alone in whatever you face. Even if there’s no friends, family, loved ones surrounding you; there is still their music to find solace in.

‘As long as we’re together, we can smile.’

Not the most popular of songs among ARMY, but the message is still so so important. No matter who you are, what you look like, what you have done, what you have been through; you deserve to love yourself.

It’s not easy, and it won’t be the answer to all your problems but loving yourself, being kind to yourself is something so crucial to how you’ll live your life and will set you on the path towards a brighter you.

Another song that brings me so much comfort.

No matter how shitty your day has been, how bad you’ve been feeling; at zero o’clock a new day starts and it can be anything you want it to be.

I wanted to add Spring Day into, since it’s my favorite song and it’s intended meaning, and meaning I gave it to it personally. But I’m happy to see OP already has included it!

I wrote this for 30 minutes instead of cleaning my house, worth it though.

  • You get the best answer for sure. So many songs, and all of them have such a great message. I also learned the meaning behind a lot of these songs for the first time reading your answer. You really blew it out of the park. Also, glad to distract you from cleaning. Good luck!

  • in this category my absolute favorite is probably Loona - So What. I love how it is about having the courage to be yourself.
