what are your opinions about 4th gen ggs

    i'll start, please dont bash so it doesnt derail the thread with fighting


    - ive is hands down the best 4th gen gg

    - newjeans is the prettiest

    - aespa would be much better if whoever in charge of them (most likely lsm) stopped with the us and bp obsession

    - i like what i've seen from nj but tbh I expected much more coming from ~ador~. it was nice but overall didnt meet my expectations. they were the gg i was most hyped for. you know theres everything i should like but its like theres something missing? so far their concept is so bland it doesnt appeal to me at all. wonder if it will change once they actually debut but rn ive still is leagues ahead and actually i dont think it will change

    I had no expectations whatsoever for newjeans and i’m now loving their content, like i’m obsessively repeating their mvs and impatiently waiting for the next teaser mv to drop lol. I think it’s only a matter of expectations that makes you feel something is missing. If you hype yourself up too much for something it rarely ever meets the hype.

    Same for me. i had no expectations for them because people were saying they would have sailormoon/magical concept lmao. But I'm happy with how they turned out to be now. Their music is what i vibe with the most during my works, such nice playlist or sleep songs.

    Aespa - Cardboard cutouts could perform better. A group made up of camera angles and Hatsune Miki ripoffs, whose best song is a recycled EDM drop from a film franchise that's gone on for 3 films too long. The towering achievement is their album sales which are currently filling up the back of the landfill in Shenzen. The icing on this terrible cake is the nepotism baby whose raps are so boring she should start a mining company. Their greatest friend is the "play" button whenever they perform.



    IVE - Starship's crowning achievement in snatching songs from Sunmi and stumbling into success. Lead by 2 ex-rigged members whose public personas are so robotic and stilted it's like Windows Vista is permanently booting up in ther minds. Great scientists around the world are currently working together to try and remember the other 4 members because no-one recalls their names. The talent for this group currently on "missing" signs on power-poles around the neighbourhood.



    Itzy - Cult-master JYP's crowning achievement of lots of noise with little to show for it. Literally. Have yet to meet a musical note that couldn't be talk-rapped and shouted instead of sung. Lyrics and concepts so chidlish it makes Nikelodeon look like NPR. In all likelihood will disband in 1-2 years when Yeji or Ryujin gets fed up with the 3 other girls dragging the group to oblivion. Or someone manages to sneak in and turn off the auto-zoom function on the video camera taping their dances, and they get exposed for being the middling group they always have been.



    Le Sserafim - One airbrush filter or instagram filter away from being vanished, literally. A group so manufactured, they make the other groups on this list look like underground garage punk bands. Medical physicians have hailed their soporific powers, being so boring and mind-numbing, as a breakthrough in treating anxiety and sleep disorders. Also with 2 ex-rigged group members, one being the Izone member everyone forgot about for 3 years, and the other whose better of being a twitch streamer then an Idol.



    Enhypen - A collection of frat boys who appear to hate each other. Songs which have 14 composers yet someone ended being a brew of an Ableton sampler set, vocals recorded through a Fisher Price Walkie-Talkie, and then transmitted by 1960's radio technology from the moon. In a Recent UN forum, it was discussed about a worldwide campaign to reach out to Enhypen fans, and get them they help they need to move on to a better group.



    Nmixx - Currently to this day, it's said a person can, when in the right area and listening carefully, hear a whisper on the wind - "O.O actually isn't that bad, they're so talented". Currently the most "talented" member is someone who couldn't make the cut into Itzy, which tells you all you need to know about this groups future success. Will be an interesting footnote in a few years time, when some old kpop stan goes "hey do you remember Nmixx" to someone else, and they just throw their heads back and laugh.



    SKZ - Cmon, let's be honest. In no way can this formless mass of rehashing tired old song genres and drop beats be serious. Just a cheeky prank played by some Australians I think. Getting the latest royalty-free samples and hitting shuffle isn't making music. Contain stans more toxic then nuclear waste, who tragically, had mass psychosis event when their fabled "top rapper" bombed out in the first round of SMTM. The copium required to justify that is earth's latest source of free, renewable energy.

    I wouldnt say Newjeans are the prettiest, but people have different preferences.


    So far I'm not that blown away as I had expected to be, like how I was blown away with (G)I-dle's debut and first songs and how they blew me away with Tomboy.


    So far the other 4th gen girl groups didn't come close to that, but IVE came closest followed by Aespa I guess.

    I see Lightsum and STAYC as dark horses, but of all the groups bar (G)I-dle I still expect them to show what they really got.

    ive - a nice surprise. i've never been a fan of starship groups so i was worried about wonyoung and yujin's future. but they're doing more than well, they're putting out great music, and all of the members are entertaining and have a great stage presence. i'm glad to see them thriving.


    itzy - love most of their music, the members are talented and i genuinely love watching their stages, especially during award shows. every performance of theirs is a feast for the eyes. but after sneakers i feel like jyp should find some new producers.


    aespa - i love their title tracks, the bsides are hit or miss though. the members are talented and despite all the lipsync accusations, i do believe they're the best vocal group of the 4th gen. their choreos are kinda underwhelming and don't showcase the members' true skills so i hope they can get a better choreographer for the future comebacks. also, i do agree their management is a bit too obsessed with the usa, but that's sm so what are we expecting.


    le sserafim - a debut album with 0 skips, literally one of the best debuts in the past few years. all of the members have excellent stage presence and dancing skills. sakura's singing really improved a lot since izone and i hope she and eunchae will get more lines in the next comeback. i love their group dynamics and i think they're one of the funniest and most natural ggs in front of the camera.


    nmixx - tbh i don't know much about them. the only content i've watched are random singing clips on my twitter tl and i must agree they're great singers, especially lily. if all the members possess that kind of talent they surely can compete with aespa for the best vocal group. their debut was a hot mess. i hope jyp will give them something more easily digestible for their comeback


    newjeans - they're pretty but their talent is still very raw. i liked attention and i think they're good vocalists but it's still very early to say anything about them. i feel like it's too early to even judge their visuals because half of the members are literal kids. the concept is nice and i'm interested to see where this whole thing will go but for now, i don't think they are a threat to the leading 4th gen ggs

    dont get me wrong aespa itzy have all very pretty girls, esoecially ive i find all of them stunning and the reason i prefer their visuals is that they look totally diffrrent from each other.

    im just saying that nj is the prettiest bc each member is strikingly pretty. doesnt mean i prefer their visuals becsuse of that, i dont because they just all give the same vibe

    ive - Starship have been doing them a wonder by having good song. The members are boring af. No wonder they can't gain big fandom and just casual listener. They will flop if they can't release good song. Wonyoung won't save this group.


    aespa - Interesting concept, but again boring member with pretty face. I like Black Memba and Savage the most. I don't understand why Next Level is doing good in kchart. It is a bad song. Also, girls is even worst.


    nmixx - I really hope JYP can give them a listenable song. They are the most talented girl group in 4th gens. The members are already not interesting already and now JYP give them a shit song. It is like asking us not to stan them.


    le sserafim - Honestly, the group completely carried by big 4 privilege and ex-izone members. Fearless is not good and Kazuha is the most overrated visual.


    new jean - Their song is quite good and I like it. However, all members look the same and the visual is not my cup of tea. Right now, at most, I'm just gonna be a casual listener. I need them to debut to give my opinion.


    itzy - I never like them. None of their song is my favorite and Sneaker is just worst.


    Honestly, most of 4th gens gg is not interesting in variety show and they are not fun to watch too.

    Aespa - Their days are numbered if they don’t give the girls individual CFs and consistent live singing. Stop obsessing with the US, they have lower Spotify streams than Ive. It is effecting the music. Just be hyperpop queens.


    Ive - Great music. Amazing success. Pretty girls. But no talent in sight. The next Blackpink I fear. But if Starship feeds Wonyoung I will stan.


    Gidle- One of their worst songs became their biggest hit. Don’t know what their next concept would be tbh.


    Le Sserafim - Now that the scandal is over they are going to pull a Tomboy/Really Really and get a huge hit. Deserved. Now just fix Sakura’s nose and they will be the perfect group.


    Itzy - Chaeryeong going viral in Korea saved their careers. They were flopping in Korea and internationally with Shitkers but now they have success because Chae smiled her ass on camera. JYP doesn’t deserve her, or Yeji, or Ryujin, or Yuna. Yes, even you Lia.


    StayC - Remove Ive of Wonyoung, and switch with Alvin the Chipmunk, make them less luxurious, and take away some funding, and what do you get? Something so bad…


    Nmixx - I hope their cb is actually good and does well. Having a later cb is odd though as Twice and even SKZ are before them. I don’t want them to end up like Kep1er. Haewon is cute I guess.


    Kep1er - Meme group. Free Xiaoting, Hikaru, and Bahiyyih. Queendom only shown their weaknesses.


    Loona - Flip That was mid, but it only shown that BBC can’t give them as good music as Jaden. It wasn’t the concept, it was the quality.


    Everglow - Flop group. Yiren will never come back and they peaked with Dun Dun. Unironically La Di Da was the start of their downfall. People wanted discount Blackpink, not this space shit.


    Purple Kiss - Hit and Miss group. They need to stick to the Billie Eilish/mature concept.


    Lightsum - Sadness. If only their debut was good.
