Or maybe love is in the air
Newpants are problematic

And is it just me or were they dressed too provocatively
Yeah its you. Wearing crop tops or shorts is not provocative. It's normal outfit for young girls. Girls in my city always dress up this way.

If this is what you think provocative you should see how teens dress here. There is nothing wrong with their outfit, I used to wear crop top and miniskirt when I was their age. And badly done makeup put on in the toilets so my mum don’t catch me.
The outfit only weird if you make it weird. All I seen was a group of bubbly teenagers wearing colourful accessories, clothes and having fun. It would be more problematic if they make them look like adults with clothes and makeup when they are young.

On a slightly serious note, while I wasn't impressed with newjeans, I will say that the thing that can make me uncomfortable with minors in this situation is not what they're wearing but the team surrounding them, directing them to do something "weird" to attract their audience.
Not something I think about too often but I suppose worth a discussion.

Calling a group made up of a lot of minors Newpanties is creepy. Also them being dressed in short clothing isn't an invitation for people like you or OP to call them such names. It's inappropriate
Well the issue is that the Emperor is intentionally nude, Abs called that out - the creepiness of the content is reflected in the creepiness of the call-out.
If K-pop continues to objectify (you think they are not .. hah) younger and younger idols, there could be even new-pampers at this rate, singing very age-inappropriate content - even if camera work/costumes seem neutral, 13/14 is not an age to be singing many of the lyrics.
But K-pop is not the only industry whose standards are shot. Kids singing raunchy songs in competition reality shows are revolting across societies.

I feel a lot of ways around this thread. It’s concerning to see people in this thread doubling down on people who see something as sexualized as the people with the problem.
I don’t think there’s anything sexualized here - they look like teens doing teen stuff in teen clothes - BUT I disagree with some of the posts here that say calling out any stuff is the problem with the person looking at it, because there is definitely some questionable stuff in Kpop.
