  • high level looking at the chart

RV psycho and EXO LS are the only long running hits from SM

Aespa don't suck at international numbers like everyone think... they have 5 songs on there, Ive have 3, itzy have 4

SKZ have 4 songs, TXT 3, en- 3

NCT have 2 their latest releases and no older releases

17's anuj nice is a definite hit no doubt about it and they have a total of 5 charting songs

no need to mention bts bp and twice who are ofc killing it.

  • It's Gaon's version of Billboard Global 200, which excludes the US.

I guess this excludes SK? Or weights global streaming more?

I guess it's the Circle Chart Awards instead of Gaon.

    Its Circle Certified Platinum now.

I guess it's a good step in the right direction. Melon is becoming less relevant with only 5 million users and shrinking. Showing that what those specific 5 million Koreans are listening to is not more or less important than what Tens of millions of people are listening to globally.

Probably the same reason iChart and music shows are weighting YouTube now, since it's the fastest growing music platform in Korea and globally.

I feel we'll see Spotify on iChart soon and Melon is on its deathbed.

  • I suppose they include korean streaming plataforms, there are many local big hits in the Top 200.

It would be Interesting If they released the two versions of the chart, including and excluding Korea.

    Maybe.

    I don't see a formula.

    Maybe it's:

    SK streaming x 1 + International streaming x 2 = Circle (Gaon)Kpop Chart.

    Or something to that effect

  • Instead of fooling around with geometry it sure would be nice if the kind bureaucrats running Gaon would fix them or at least put some accurate names to their charts.

Rename the current Gaon Digital Chart as the official Gaon Song Revenue Chart.

Make a whole new chart that tracks UNIQUE LISTENERS AND UNIQUE LISTENERS ONLY (no downloads, no total streams) and make that the official Gaon Digital Chart.

  • Love Maybe from Melomance is charting #4 on Melon daily

Beyond Love from Big Naughty charting on #5

And Dear my X from Kyoungseo charting #7

Those songs are, respectively, #18, #14 and #21 on the global chart

Those positions came as no surprise for me, becoming a hit in Korea is still important to get a high position on the global charts in the long run, at first I guess not so much because Youtube will inflate debut positions but I digress
