Do you feel their were or are groups that are being held due to of lack of interesting members?

Yes. Fans love to scapegoat the labels but the harsh truth of the matter is that sometimes, it's the group members themselves that just cant get enough fans to support them. Asking labels to continue spending dollars to promote a group that can only sell 15k per comeback is like asking them to literally burn money.

Now one can say that the label was incompetent at choosing the right members? But i agree no point in asking the company to sustain flops forever.

Fans love to think their favs have star power and are talented and love to scapegoat the labels if something goes wrong but the harsh truth is that we'll never know if their favs will be able to be popular, sell album and have good stream on melon and spotify without BIG3 privilege.

I think there's also an element of what roles they're asked to play. Like Dami is really forgettable to me when they were Minx, but she stands out so strongly in Dreamcatcher. Dami definitely has star power but it was hard to see before.
I think we see that with CLC too. Some of the members were really good with Hobgoblin concept, but I think the group collectively did better with brighter concepts. Cube just should have quit messing with their style.

This doesn't apply all the time. Sometimes it is really about luck and the right thing happening at the right time.
Take for example, Brave Girls. They didn't take off until Rollin, literally 4 years after the song was released. Does it mean they didn't had star power before? And they suddenly had star power literally days before their disbandment?
Luck is a huge factor in a lot of things. Same as promotions and companies, but people like to say 'oh they just lack xxxxx' and blame it on the members when in a lot of cases all the group needs is just that one moment, that one event that clicks and makes everything work.
-
hmm I do think sometimes genuinely members aren't inherrently uninteresting, it's just they aren't given a chance to shine.
Could be bad line distribution for example and giving a member more of a spotlight in performances than the others and whatnot.
I'm not saying this is the case every time tho. There probably are cases where members are genuinely aren't interesting no matter what you do.
It just kind of depends on the circumstance I feel.

Just recently, people are saying Eunchae is invisible when she debut.
Now that Eunchae got more lines + center for chorus, she is gaining more and more love.
Line distribution really makes a huge difference

That was a short glory for Brave Girls. Unfortunately for them, girlgroup's lifespan is a short one. Had they blew up 3-4 years earlier, they could have even longer period of and bigger success

Hoping they get more traction after Queendom 2

i think all groups even the most nugu ones have at least one member with star power? there's my nugu faves like woo!ah and they have Nana who is an all-rounder and a great performer + she's beautiful. weeekly have jihan and zoa who are stan attractors and visuals. lightsum have nayoung who is also a cutie with a lot of potential as stan attractor and sangah who is more chic and cool but also has a lot of potential. dkz have jaechan, enough said.

Maybe ASTRO?
Don't they have Cha Eunwoo?
-
Maybe ASTRO?
they have the cha eun woo in the group tho? and moonbin and sanha are great visuals recognized by koreans too. the other 3 members are very talented and i'm sure they are charming enough to attract a fanbase because their own sub-units and solos sold well despite not having the 3 visuals

Don't they have Cha Eunwoo?
