This is often a subject brought when we are discussing the most All-rounders/Ace idols.
Some people think we should focus only on skills that are known are "idol jobs" such as singing, dancing, rapping and overall performance/stage presence. While writing/composing/arranging isn't their "job" as idol, but separated skills they may or not have and/or execute. Others think any musical-related skill is valid to define an idol as an-rounder/ace.
What do you think?

lets make a comparison in sport like basketball. An all rounder in basketball is someone who can pass score and defend. This is something that almost everyone does (some players score way less because different role etc). Then you have very good ball handlers (no joke). They are extremely valuable and good. But is it necessary ? I don't think so, in the past and present, some of the most complete players didn't have this trait. It's uncommon, and the previous definition didn't include it. Regarding more objective measurements like success, ball handlers didn't get more success necessarily, or at least can't really prove it's really because of this skill they are better. Same for Kpop, self producing composing idols have nive tools, and generally have been acclaimed by the public, but i don't think looking at the overall landscape of kpop you can say they have clearly more success. Its not part of the standart skillset, so it's bizarre to put it on the same note as the others. it's probably more like a bonus. An idol who is a good dancer rapper and composer is imo not an all rounder, the holy trinity of vocal/rap/dance should be mandatory

To be fair, I don't think there's objectivity in K-pop stans' mind when It comes to skills of idols they don't like or don't care about at all. Not only related to the skill of constructing a song (that being good or bad is subjetive).
