The bullying scandal becomes a WEAPON to destroy the 4th generation

  • Let me be clear, this thread is not about defending a guilty or claiming justice for victims... it's just an observation of the current situation !

At school, in the group, at work ... no matter where, since 2020 so far we've got many cases of bullying scandal , often happens at the time of debut or comeback and it doesn't look like it's going to end anytime soon
anti will take advantage of "REAL CASES" like Aoa, Garam ,Soojin.... to invent their own lie to destroy someone's image or another groupe

And because of this trend, many idols have suffered from mistakes that they didn't commit ( i won't name any names ) and it seems that koreans are losing their faith in their idols

So please companies, make sure to check every detail about your trainee ,

their past, their father, their friends, their schools, their personality, their habits, their physical and mental health ... even if it's a small detail ( and even if you have to go to their schools then go.... :pepe-slash:) and save all the paperwork to make sure it doesn't come this far and for the same possibility of having proof when you defend your artist.

I think what's happening right now is a warning to all companies that want to debut another group and make sure they're clean.

    One take One shot 🍻

  • The thing about all these bullying scandals, honestly we wouldn't know if it's real of fake.

There are A LOT OF SCANDALS in the past month that are fake, pertaining to my faves. I can even name them

Everglow Aisha was accused of bullying, turns out to be falsed

DKZ Jaechan was accused of bullying. This happened during the time when he was blowing up from his BL drama Semantic Error as if someone is plotting to destroy him. Company immediately denies this and take legal action and said it is not true.

A lot of these allegations are literally random anonymous twitter accounts that cannot be verified but someone depending on the artists people accept those allegations to be true/false depending on what they want to believe.

For any bullying scandal, we wouldn't know you know if any of these are true and also how the company handles it really makes a difference.

  • when you're talking about "real cases" the issue is we don't know what is real or fake or in between since we clearly don't have all the information - an information asymmetry as you will

and each time the parties come out with more information we get a clearer picture of what is happening - it's in drips and drabs because as I've indicated this ain't a court of law when you produce all your evidence upfront and argue as to it's validity and weight and credibility etc etc this is the court of public opinion and we are all making our own judgments based on the evidence presented

  • Probably best for entertainment companies to release the names of their future debuting idols quite a while before the debut. Then, any claims can be made before the idol debuts. Doesn't guarantee that there won't be claims afterwards, I know.

It has happened so many times now that a 'clear' guilty party turned out to be more innocent and the innocent one more guilty than was initially believed, that I will try to reserve judgment as much as possible until everything is clear.

And even then, things can change again. Look no further than the AoA case, where public opinion thought it 'knew' what had happened, only to then find out things were quite different from what was thought.

when i said real i mean " the situation is real " .... that's why i mention the names garam, aoa and soojin.... in the 3 cases the story really happened ( no matter if they are in the victim side or guilty) .

but we only know whether something is real or fake after the fact no? once all the evidence (or lack thereof) is made available

    hindsight is 20/20

  • I said in a previous thread a long time ago that we're going to see a lot more of these scandals in the future and we shouldn't be surprised. All debuting idols and trainees grew up in the social media era and we all know that teenagers tend to over share or brag about anything.

Proof is also much easier to come across, anyone can take/save photos, videos, screenshots and not to mention that a lot of school documents are now digitalized and easily accessible.

  • Well said. I think your comparison to the US is a good example.

  • but we only know whether something is real or fake after the fact no? once all the evidence (or lack thereof) is made available

we already know that there are fights and bullying among aoa members and we already know that something happened at garam school... i think that's enough to say that the story is "real"

But the main point is which story is true and which is false (and finding that is not in my skill set)

    One take One shot 🍻

that's the million dollar question right? and why people smarter than you and i (hopefully smarter) become judges and have the knowledge to determine what evidence is true or false and who is more credible than another...
