They were also the ones who began using malicious media play to bury both of them, when this whole fiasco started.
This is not a "both sides are doing it!!!" situation. To claim otherwise is just ignorant. There are quite literally HUNDREDS of negative articles about NewJeans written each month. Hundreds. And which party has Dispatch stalking the girls and leaking videos of their pre-debut training, not to mention speculating about Hanni's visa status and inciting racism against her?
It's actually offensively stupid to see someone sit here and unironically claim the weaponization of the media hasn't been lopsidedly abused by HYBE. MHJ and NJ had to retaliate or suffer irreversible immense reputational damage should they have stayed quiet.
