That is what military does to a man

Love to see this. Let's go for 3.5M-4M attendees!

Taylor Swift's concert will have a 4.3M attendance, which cannot be beaten

Bang should have done it in 2021-22, instead of allowing this

With BTS having the largest world tour of all, the voices of the Korean incels and rabid ultraconservatives who still think this is 1950 would have been swept away

But they now cannot beat taylor swift. Case closed

The very fact that the tweet puts New Jeans before BTS tells all we have to know about the sentiment.

2021 was unarguably the greatest year of BTS, having unequivocally become the top act of the entire world, putting even Taylor Swift to the back burner.

But at the end of the year this thing happened

    https://www.allkpop.com/article/2021/12/these-are-the-potential-dispatch-couples-to-be-revealed-on-2022-new-years-day-according-to-netizens

Dispatch had listed 21 potential new couplings, and lo and behold,

among others, there were IU-Suga and IU-Jungkook.

IU's name appeared before Suga and Jungkook, forgetting the fact that BTS had conquered the entire world, and virtually every act on the earth (although not IU, probably the one act still defiant against BTS) was kneeling before it,

yet the Koreans put IU's name before the members' names, considering her to be more famous than BTS members. Right after IU- Jungkook, he appears in two more potential coupling, Jungkook-Sana and Jungkook-Lee Yubi (an actress, whose younger sister has married Lee Seunggi.)

So the list was compiled with the more famous person put in front of others.

The recent photo revelation of Kim Saeron put light to IU's most famous photograph. Everyone called it IU-Eunhyuk, never, never the other way around.

No matter how much they tried, BTS, BlackPink and other internationally relevant acts could not dislodge the domesticist who has ridiculed KPop's successes for all these years, and defied the acts which conquered the world.

In fact Bibi harmed the domesticist more than all these internationally prominent singers, and Bibi's coup came to nought since her company, Yoon Mirae and Tiger JK, failed to follow up Bibi's super success. In fact that has incited IU to have an encore concert at the Soccer Stadium, and people are predicting that she will release at least a digital single before it, which will have the same effect Strawberry Moon had over aespa's Savage in 2021, silencing all new acts and forcing them to pay filial duty to her in Sep 21-22.

What has led to this sorry condition?

    Two things, in my opinion

    1. txt did not become as big as expected.

A lot of people had expected txt to reach at least the level of BTS-lite, but because of Hybe's policy of giving them 'experimental' songs, txt had carved up its own niche but that did not become as big as some hoped for.

    2. That led to the lack of successors to world domination. After BTS and BlackPink became offline, Twice , now leaning more towards USA and Japan, could not fill their gaps, and ditto to Seventeen, itself a mature group, too tied to Asia to expand elsewhere.

    3. Companies have become too conservative.

Because of all these troubles in SM, which was traditionally the most aggressive, a sense of economy has prevailed.

So they are no longer willing to take huge risks to maintain world domination, just content to hold on to whatever they have now.

Which has led to the sorry condition of the Domesticist having the largest 'world tour' of all this year.

    4. The toleration of the domesticist herself

A concerted campaign against the Domestist, like last year's coalition of the country singers vs Jungkook, and Taylor Swift- Drake- SZA - Doja Cat - Beatles against Jungkook to destroy BTS in North America, would have brought the domesticist down.

However, unlike the country singers and the Taylor Swift coalitions, because the Domesticist was associated with Melon, there were no concerted efforts to remove the greatest impediment against the KPop Conquest of the World.

As a result, after 7 years of hibernation, it is likely that the Domesticist will return to the top singer of Korea, despite of what Bibi had done to hurt the former owner of Edam. If it is not tragic I don't know what is.

By the way, I'm starting to guess Hybe's plan for new groups. Most likely he wants to have an "army" on the scale of the multi-fandom of his groups. You are so handsome and young, you listen to and support NJ, LSF, Illit and of course you buy each of their albums, merchandise, concert tickets, spending 3 times more money. With the "army" spending a lot of money to support the group, Hybe wants a similar strategy to be extended to all groups. That is why there is maximum similarity between them and the absence of a strong fandom of only one group.

The problem is most people only have the slack to support one single act. They don't get hot over multiple acts.

Wrong. What led to KPOP dominance was Japan's Island syndrome the tldr of it is focus entirely on at home audience ignore external audience and don't share ANYTHING!. This was notorious in jpop, they rarely if ever pursued oversees tours especially outside of Asia and wouldn't translate or do things like have a vlive type service or social media accounts, would copyright strike anything even fan created content. It was soo bad that even big name Japanese artists made a stink about it after they were asked by japans culture administration doing the whole cool japan inative to bring more attention to Japan 🤡 they didn't do anything and doubled down on doing the same shit that lead to this.

It's hilariously ironic how they fell, Japan literally could have been the kpop of today if they didn't do this especially since Japanese culture and media and its influence in general was always high and in high demand in Asia and the west especially with stuff like t technology, cars, anime, culture in general and music and its upcoming film and dramas. Korea literally took notes on everything Japan did right and wrong and ran with everything done right and capitalized on everything they didn't do.

That is related to the domination by Johnny's and AKS. With everything dominated by these two companies, no new strategy could be attempted and since these companies continued to do well with only monies earned from Japan and SE Asia (they were not welcome to Korea - Japanese acts began performing in Korea only recently) they had no reason to change

Unfortunately KPop , with its emphasis on easier listening songs, might be falling into the same trip

I agree with the first part whole heartly!

I genuinely think that could be a main reason why MHJ is gonna leave Hybe asap, as soon as she gets as much as connections as she can :pepe-wink::pepegrin: . And once she does that, man ... we're not ready :pepe-hehe: .

She aims to get more control over Hybe, and will probably bet everything on her upcoming boy act. However with TWS already having gotten enough traction, she will face an uphill battle

A dominant act is not just that. A dominant act is also a dominant GG, a dominant BG, a dominant Soloist etc...

JG is a dominant soloist and overall domiant. But he must allow domiant acts through all categories. And not hinder the potential of growth of such acts.

A dominant act is Imperial. IU did not ask questions about when she should make comebacks, she did according to what she saw fit and ruined aespa, among others in the past, on the process

He’s still the producer tho?? I can’t understand the obsession to refuse giving Pledis credits when it’s due and always act like every success they’ve gotten must be credited to Bang PD. Just like how Seventeen would still be the top bg right now even without the meddlement of Hybe

If evey groups under Hybe is guaranteed for success then what about Fromis 9 and BND who chart much lower than TWS even though they debuted last year? Or since they aren’t successful enough thus they arent the children of Bang PD?

Because they did not rise high fast enough . BND is Zico's baby and will be run according to Zico's whims but if it doesn't go places it will receive the GFriend treatment. After all, Block B, Zico's group, was never that popular, with the members more than the sum of the group.

F9 was always treated as a stepchild . SVT would also have received the GFriend treatment if it did not grow big enough.

Omg, so you mean there is a sort of competition between Tae-ho and MHJ to determine the best 'creative director' potential/abilities?

I thought that struggle was going on between MHJ and BSY :eyes:.

It just gets more complicated. It was between MHJ and Bang's staff and now Taeho jumps in , adding to the chaos

It does not help that Bang has the sink-or-swim attitude. At least JYP does make the final decision and chooses what to push, but Bang does not do that

HSS has more autonomy about running Pledis but in the end he still has to answer to Bang.

Bang considers Seventeen as being HIS idols, so when TWS gains more traction he will do the same with its members as well.
