For me K-pop is a new way life; meeting new friends, travelling together, keeping your body in shape, interested in Korean TV shows, culture.
K-pop is a replacement to western artist for many people. Also since western pop boy/girl bands are close to extinction so K-pop bands are the only thing that keeps groups of 5 or more people together and looking forward to something new every week. I dream is to one day form my own dancing group in youtube

Why not ? After BTS and Blackpink. What K-pop can replace their massive popularity ?
The subscriber is a real thing. All the most popular western artist have 20 million to 50 million subs, the highest are always the most talked about too.
Big Bang had been in hiatis for long time Twice may have a chance. Exo is also too late.
TXT has 8.8 million subs. While they were better than BTS in rookies but I doubt they could reach even half the popularity of BTS. NCT they have 19-20 million subscribers only if their 3 NCT channels are all different people but I doubt that, most likely half are same subscribers

Western artist don't need to worry. Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber and some western artist are almost equally as popular one can see that through their subscribers alone where they have 20-40 or 40-50 million, so they can easily pass the torch to the next artist.
The worrying thing about K-pop. BTS and Blackpink popularity are already the world most popular boyband and girlgroup. They are No.1 and No.2 in K-pop. The difference in their subs compared with other K-pop artist is huge.

Another Uyghur singer but I'm not sure t's K-pop or Chinese pop. Don't know her name.
-
I don’t have think there are any more kpop idols but Curley Gao from Bon Bon Girls 303 is Uyghur and so is Dilreba. I also hope there will be more kpop idols who are Uyghur.
Thanks. I had no idea there was another K-pop idol of Uyghur descent.
She is actually only half Uyghur so I'm not sure if that counts her as proper Uyghur. Her father is Chinese and mother is Uyghur. There are several hundreds of marriages usually between Chinese men and Uyghur women.
Her face looks more Chinese to me but her natural hair is lighter and turns brown easily, which is common traits in Uyghurs.

Wouldn't it be interesting to have more K-pop stars of Uyghur origin ? Manny is a ethnic Uyghur, the first muslim K-pop star from the K-pop boyband "Varsity" (2017 to present). He stood out because of his foreign or mixed race looks.
( A little more historical background on Uyghurs )
In China, Uyghurs are known for their Caucasian or part Caucasian looks in Xinjiang (or East Turkistan or Tarim Basin ). Most of them look mixed race with mostly East Asian looks but many look like White, Caucasian, Middle easterner, Persian, European types. They are hired as models, actress, and play foreigners roles sometimes.
It is said the Original Uyghurs were East Asian invaders that conquered the Xinjiang/Tarim Basin inhabited by Indo-European Iranic people who were Caucasians like neighboring Tajikistan. They ended up intermixing in various degree. Uyghurs from North ended up with more East Asian features while the Southern Uyghurs with more Caucasian features. They named their country East Turkistan but was later conquered by China.
Here is how it's people look like in their traditional dress

it's funny that people call songs written, composed, and produced by westerners and sung in English kpop.
Many American and western songs were also written, composed, produced by Koreans, japanese, Chinese, Indiann, Pakistani, Africans, Arabs, Egyptians born from overseas.
Including music video director
Joseph Jun-hee Kahn (born Ahn Jun-hee, Korean: 안준희; October 12, 1972) is a South Korean-American film and music video director. Kahn has worked with various artists such as Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, Eminem, Backstreet Boys, Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Kylie Minogue, Sun Ho, Samantha Mumba, Shakira, Aaliyah, Dr

Kpop songs had tons of English in them way before 2020, it is seen as cool in Korea.
But what makes Kpop Korean than if even their language is becoming more and more non-Korean ? Their accent and their style ?
Of course I disagree saying K-pop is American music because K-pop also have many Arabic, Indian influence aswell as Latin and Japanese influences. K-pop has it's own unique sounding but the only Korean influence I see is when they do their MV in Korean culture and and maybe some Korean instrument.

It's common knowledge when K-pop groups sing in Japanese they market to Japanese audience only.
Most K-pop songs that are market for everyone seems to have many English or sometimes Spanish mixed in. What if Korean language becomes minority in K-pop ?
Edit: I'm talking about songs from 2020 to 2022+ present all have some English. Ever since BTS sang it's songs in English , Blackpink and Twice did the same. NCT 127 was the first one in 2018.
